Football Bet of the Day: Norway is Sunday’s destination for goals
Football Bet of the Day

After somehow falling a goal short in the Gold Cup on Thursday, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Norwegian third tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Notodden vs Sandnes Ulf

🇳🇴 Division 2 Group 2

⏰ Sunday 22 June, 12:00

Two clubs separated only by two points in the Norwegian Division 2 Group 1 table meet at Idrettsparken on Sunday lunchtime as third-placed Notodden plays host to second-placed Sandnes Ulf in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Sebastian Temte Hansen’s hosts have scored 17 goals across their opening 10 league matches this season, with 10 (59%) of them coming in front of their supporters.

NFK have failed to score in just one of their opening 10 league contests this campaign – striking 2+ goals in 4/5 (80%) of their home clashes – and will look to breach a Sandnes Ulf defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season, shipping multiple goals in 4/5 (80%) of them.

Arturo Cleveland’s visitors have fired in 23 goals across their opening 10 matches since relegation to the Norwegian third tier, with a league-high 14 (61%) of them coming on their travels.

The Wolves have failed to score in just one of their opening 10 league outings this term, notching on multiple occasions in seven (70%) of them – including in 4/5 (80%) of them away from home – and will be confident of breaching a Notodden backline that has kept just two clean sheets in the league this season.

Bet of the Day

Notodden’s opening 10 matches in the Norwegian third tier have averaged 2.80 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in eight (80%) of them, whilst 4/5 (80%) of their home matches have seen a minimum of three goals.

Sandnes Ulf’s opening 10 matches since relegation to the Norwegian third tier have averaged an impressive 3.60 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in eight (80%) of them, whilst eight (80%) have gone Over 2.5 Goals – including all five away from home (3-3, 2-1, 2-5, 1-3 & 2-2) – and I’m expecting another high-scoring clash in this one.

  • Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
  • Pays 10/11 (Bet365)
