After making it five consecutive winners in China on Sunday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Norwegian second tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Mjondalen will look to give their survival hopes a boost on Wednesday night as they welcome 12th-placed Asane to the Consto Arena in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Kevin Nicol’s hosts have scored 15 goals across their opening 14 OBOS-ligaen fixtures this season, with eight (53%) of them coming on home soil.
Mjondalen have found the back of the net in each of their previous six league outings – with only runaway league leaders Lillestrom preventing them from scoring at home this season – and they will look to breach an Asane defence that has kept a solitary clean sheet in the league this term, shipping 2+ goals in five of their last six away from home.
Asane have scored 18 goals across their opening 14 contests in the Norwegian second tier this campaign, with nine (50%) of them coming on their travels.
Ex-Leeds United midfielder, Eirik Bakke, has seen his find the back of the net in each of their last five and eight of their past 10 league outings – notching on multiple occasions in four of their previous five – and will be confident of breaching a Mjondalen defence that has recorded a solitary shutout this season, conceding a league-high 34 goals.

Mjondalen’s opening 14 matches in the Norwegian second tier this season have averaged 3.50 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in nine (64%) of them – including in five of their last six on home soil (2-3, 1-4, 0-6, 2-2, 1-4 & 1-1).
Asane’s opening 14 clashes in the OBOS-ligaen this campaign have averaged 2.79 goals per game, with six of their previous seven seeing Over 2.5 Goals land (2-1, 0-1, 2-1, 2-2, 2-1, 1-2 & 2-2).
Given both teams' recent improvement in front of goal, coupled with their defensive vulnerabilities, I’m expecting to see a minimum of three goals in Eastern Norway on Wednesday.
