After recording a second successive winner in New York on Thursday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Scottish League Two, where I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ East Kilbride vs Dumbarton
🏴 League Two
⏰ Saturday 20 September, 15:00
Second-placed East Kilbride welcome third-placed Dumbarton to K-Park in the Scottish League Two on Saturday afternoon in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Mick Kennedy’s hosts are the leading scorers in the Scottish fourth tier, firing in 15 goals across their opening six matches since promotion, with nine (60%) coming at home.
The Kilby have found the back of the net in each of their opening six league outings this term – notching on multiple occasions in each of their last four – and will be confident of extending their impressive goal tally against a Dumbarton defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet in League Two this season, shipping 10 goals.
Stephen Farrell’s visitors are the joint second-highest scorers in League Two, slamming in 13 goals across their opening six encounters, with nine (69%) of them coming on their travels.
The Sons have made the net bulge in each of their opening six league contests this season, striking 2+ goals in four (67%) of them coming- including in all three away from home – and will look to continue their fine form in front of goal against an EK backline that has shipped multiple goals in 3/4 (75%) of their matches against sides positioned in sixth and above.
Bet of the Day
East Kilbride’s opening six league matches since promotion to League Two have averaged a joint league-high 3.83 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in four (67%) of them, whilst five (83%) of them have seen a minimum of three goals (1-3, 1-0, 3-1, 3-2, 5-0 & 2-2).
Dumbarton’s opening six league contests this campaign have also averaged a joint league-high 3.83 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in five (83%) of them, whilst all six (100%) have produced goals at both ends (2-1, 2-1, 1-1, 4-3, 1-2, & 3-2).
Given the goal-scoring form both of these teams arrive into this clash, coupled with their defensive vulnerabilities, I’m expecting a high-scoring encounter between the two in South Lanarkshire on Saturday.
- Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
- Pays 4/5 (Bet365/Betway/BoyleSports)
