Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head into to the English Premier League and I like the look of the league leaders to maintain their 100% record. To boost the price up, I’ve added a goals and card selection to form a solid looking bet builder.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Wednesday 31st August, 19:30

Arsenal will look to maintain their 100% start to the Premier League season, as they play host to a struggling Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Arsenal made it four wins from four to begin their Premier League campaign at the weekend, as they came from behind to defeat newly-promoted Fulham 2-1. The Gunners have now W15-D2-L3 of their last 20 Premier League fixtures at the Emirates, with only Manchester City, Liverpool and away-day specialists Brighton leaving North London with all three points. Mikel Arteta’s men have found the back of the net 11 times already this season, scoring on multiple occasions in each of their opening four fixtures. Arsenal have saw their opponents being brandished a card in 19 of their last 20 league outings on home soil, as well as in each of their opening four league fixtures this term.

Aston Villa slipped down to 17th position in the Premier League table, as they were defeated 0-1 by a previously pointless West Ham on Sunday afternoon. The Villans have also lost away at Crystal Palace and at newly-promoted Bournemouth, with their sole three points coming at home to a winless Everton side. Steven Gerrard’s side have W1-D1-L5 of their last seven Premier League fixtures on their travels, with that win coming at the backend of last season against relegated Burnley. Since the start of last season, Aston Villa have been shown a card in 20 of their last 21 league outings when on their travels.

Bet of the Day

Two sides who have made contrasting starts to their Premier League campaign’s meet at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening and the home side will look to maintain their 100% record. As well as winning each of their opening four league matches, The Gunners have also won 15 of their last 20 Premier League fixtures on home soil and they should collect another three points against a Villa side who have lost three of their opening four in the league this season.

Mikel Arteta’s men have scored 11 goals in their opening four encounters, scoring on multiple occasions in each and I fancy them to score another brace against a Villa defence that have conceded five goals in their opening two away league fixtures. To complete the bet builder, I’m adding in Steven Gerrard’s visitors to be shown a card. Villa have been carded in all bar one of their last 21 Premier League fixtures on the road, whilst the North London side have drawn a card from their opponents in 19 of their last 20 league encounters at the Emirates.
