After making it three winners on the bounce in Florence on Thursday night, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Valencia will look to move further away from the relegation zone as they travel to Montilivi on Saturday night to take on 13th-placed Girona in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Michel’s hosts have scored 35 goals across their opening 27 La Liga fixtures this term, with an impressive 24 (69%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Blanquivermells have failed to score in just three of their 13 La Liga contests on home soil – notching on multiple occasions in five of the last eight – and will be confident of breaching a Valencia backline that has recorded a solitary shutout on their La Liga travels this season.
Carlos Corberan’s visitors have scored 30 goals across their opening 27 La Liga fixtures this season, with 10 (33%) of them coming across their last six matches.
After failing to score in five of their opening nine La Liga encounters this campaign, Los Che have found the target in 15 of their next 18 – striking 2+ goals in four of their past six – and will look to trouble a Girona backline that’s recorded a single shutout across their last 10 La Liga clashes at home, with that coming against rock-bottom Real Valladolid.

Girona’s opening 13 La Liga fixtures in front of their supporters this campaign have averaged 3.38 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in eight (62%) of them, including in six of their last eight.
Valencia’s previous 18 La Liga fixtures have averaged 3.17 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in 13 (72%) of them, including in each of their last five and seven of their past eight on their travels.
Given Girona’s goal-scoring record at home and Valencia’s improvement in front of goal in recent months – as well as both side's lack of clean sheets – I’m happy to back both of these teams to find the back of the net in Catalonia on Saturday night.
