Tuesday Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on go from the German Bundesliga to the English National League. I’ve picked a selection from each league to give us a nice odds against double.
Stuttgart vs Bayern Munich
🇩🇪 Bundesliga
⏰ Tuesday 14th December, 17:30
Champions Bayern Munich travel to the Mercedes-Benz Arena to take on Stuttgart. Bayern are yet again top of the Bundesliga and extended their lead to six points at the weekend. Stuttgart, on the other hand, are in 15th position and just one point above the relegation playoff spot.
Despite their lowly position, Stuttgart come into this unbeaten in their last three, taking seven points out of a possible nine. Three of those points came last time out, as they defeated Wolfsburg 0-2 away from home. Stuttgart have only failed to score three times this season, finding the back of the net on 22 occasions. However, they’ve only kept two clean sheets, with only three sides in the Bundesliga conceding more than their tally of 25.
Bayern Munich came from behind on Saturday to defeat Mainz 2-1 to make in three wins on the bounce and seven victories from eight in the Bundesliga. It comes as no surprise that Bayern are the top scorers in the Bundesliga, with them scoring 47 goals from their opening 15 matches. Bayern are the only side to score in every match this season, scoring 2+ in 11 of them. Despite their dominance, Bayern have only kept four clean in the Bundesliga so far this term, with none of them coming in their seven away games, conceding twice in each of their last three.
Halifax Town vs King’s Lynn Town
🏴 National League
⏰ Tuesday 14th December, 19:45
Two sides at opposite ends of the National League table meet at the Shay Stadium as Halifax host King’s Lynn. The hosts are in 5th, but can go joint top with a win. The visitors on the other hand are 22nd and four points from safety.
Halifax come into this off the back of successive wins with both of them coming away from home against Torquay and Wealdstone respectively. Halifax have actually won their last three away from home but they are still far stronger at home. Prior to their late defeat against Wrexham in their last home match, (owned by Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney) Halifax had won their last six in the bounce, scoring 14 goals. Five of those six wins saw Halifax score on multiple occasions.
King’s Lynn won 2-1 at the weekend against the only side below them in the table, a winless Dover side still on minus points. That was only their third win this season and it ended a run of nine straight defeats in the National League. King’s Lynn have lost each of their last four away games in the league, conceding 11 goals. Only bottom side Dover have conceding more goals in the division than King’s Lynn, with them conceding 38 goals in their opening 38 matches.
Bet of the Day
Bayern are top of the Bundesliga once more and goals have been a feature of their games. They’ve scored 47 goals in just 15 matches but they are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road. 13/15 matches in the Bundesliga have saw at least three goals and with them coming up against an in form Stuttgart side, there’s every chance we’ll see more goals. Stuttgart have only failed to score three times this season but possess one of the leakiest defences in the Bundesliga. Given there’s every chance both sides will score, I’m happy to back over 2.5 goals. Both Halifax and King’s Lynn are at opposite ends of the table and the hosts should have too much quality for their opponents. Before their weekend win over bottom side Dover, King’s Lynn had lost nine on the bounce. Given Halifax are on a decent run of form and are strong at home, I’m backing the home side to win and score at least twice against a poor King’s Lynn side.
