Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into the Scottish fourth tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Elgin City vs Clyde
🏴 League Two
⏰ Tuesday 17 December, 19:45
Two clubs at opposite ends of the Scottish League Two table meet at Borough Briggs on Thursday evening as third-placed Elgin plays host to ninth-placed Clyde in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Allan Hale’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in League Two, slamming in 23 goals across their opening 15 matches, with 15 (65%) of them coming on home soil.
The Black and Whites have made the net bulge in all seven (100%) of their league outings in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in five (71%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Clyde backline that is without a clean sheet in each of their past six league contests on the road, shipping multiple goals in five (83%) of them.
Darren Young’s visitors have scored 18 goals across their opening 15 contests in the Scottish fourth tier, with seven (41%) of them coming on their travels.
The Bully Wee have made the net bulge in seven of their past eight and 10 of their previous 12 league outings – striking on multiple occasions in four of their last five – and will look to breach an Elgin backline that’s recorded just one clean sheet and conceded 12 goals across their seven home matches in the league this season.
Bet of the Day
Elgin’s opening seven fixtures in front of their supporters have averaged a league-high 3.86 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in five (71%) of them – and given the same has paid out in five of Clyde’s last six league outings on the road – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three strikes in Elgin on Tuesday night.
- Over 2.5 Asian Goal Line
- Pays 7/8 (Bet365)
