Looking to make it four successive victories, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Scottish League Two fixture in Elgin, and I’m backing the hosts to continue their incredible record in front of goal.

Elgin City vs Albion Rovers

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 League Two

⏰ Tuesday 11th October, 19:45

Elgin City will look to maintain their impressive recent run of form as they welcome an Albion Rovers side to Borough Briggs who are only above bottom side Forfar Athletic on goal difference.

After failing to win any of their opening five league matches this season, Elgin come into this fixture winning three and drawing one of their previous four fixtures. The most recent of those victories came in a 2-3 success at Stranraer, which helped bring up Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day. The Black and Whites have found the back of the net in all nine of their league matches this season, netting on multiple occasions in seven of those. Gavin Price’s men are the second-highest goal-scorers in the Scottish fourth-tier, netting 21 times in their opening nine league fixtures – with 13 of those coming in their last four.

Albion Rovers picked up just their second win of the season against newly-promoted Bonnyrigg Rose 2-1 in Coatbridge on Saturday afternoon. Before that win, Brian Reid’s side had five of their opening eight league matches of the season, losing four of their five meetings with sides currently in sixth position in the table and above. The Wee Rovers have recorded just one shutout in their opening nine league matches this season, conceding on 12 occasions.

Bet of the Day

Elgin come into this fixture having taken 10 points from their previous four matches, and they will be confident of collecting another three points against an Albion Rovers side whose only two victories this season have come against newly-promoted Bonnyrigg Rose.

The key to Elgin’s recent upturn in form is due to the sheer amount of goals they are scoring. Gavin Price’s hosts have scored 13 of their 21 league goals across their last four matches, and I like the look of them scoring a brace for the fifth consecutive match against an Albion Rovers defence that’s kept only one clean sheet in their opening nine league matches this season.

  • Elgin City to Score 2+
  • Pays 17/20 (William Hill)
