After making it consecutive winners in Slovakia on Tuesday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Scottish Premiership and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated only by two points in the Scottish Premiership table meet in Paisley on Wednesday evening as out-of-form St Mirren plays host to resurgent St Johnstone in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Stephen Robinson’s hosts have scored 12 goals across their opening 10 matches in the Scottish Premiership this term, with seven (58%) of them coming on home soil.
The Buddies have failed to score in just three of their league outings – notching on multiple occasions in 3/5 (60%) of their home matches – and will look to trouble a St Johnstone defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their previous five road trips in the Premiership, conceding 10 goals.
Simo Valakari’s new side have scored 13 goals across their opening 10 matches in the Scottish top flight this term, with eight (62%) of them coming on their travels.
The Perth Saints have made the net bulge in 6/8 (75%) of their league outings when excluding meetings with The Old Firm – striking on multiple occasions in four (50%) of them, including in each of their last two – and will look to breach a Buddies backline that is without a clean sheet in the league since the opening day of the season, shipping multiple goals in 7/9 (78%) of them.

St Mirren’s opening 10 matches in the Scottish Premiership this term have averaged 3.20 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in nine (90%) of them – and given the same has landed in 7/10 (70%) of St Johnstone’s league outings this season – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three goals in Paisley between these two pair of Saints.
