Following on from Tuesday’s 11-minute winner in Germany, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the MLS once again, and I’ve highlighted one fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs who have already sealed a playoff place in the Eastern Conference meet at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night/Thursday morning as fifth-placed New York City FC plays host to third-placed Cincinnati in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Nick Cushing’s hosts have scored 48 goals across their opening 31 matches in the MLS this term, with 29 (60%) of them coming in their home fixtures.
The Pigeons have made the net bulge in all bar one of their opening 15 MLS encounters in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in 10 (67%) of them, including in nine of their last 12 – and will look to add to their impressive goal-tally at home to a Cincinatti defence that has recorded only two clean sheets on their travels this season, shipping two or more goals in six of their last eight.
Pat Noonan’s visitors have scored 53 goals across their opening 31 contests in the MLS this campaign, with an impressive 28 (53%) of them coming on their travels.
The Orange and Blue have found the back of the net in all bar one of their opening 15 road trips – striking on multiple occasions in nine (60%) of them – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring record on their travels against a NYCFC defence that’s recorded just five clean sheets in the MLS this season and just one in their past 10 home matches.

FC Cincinnati’s opening 15 MLS encounters on their travels this campaign have averaged an eye-catching 3.33 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in 11 (73%) of them – and given the same has landed in six of NYCFC’s previous eight MLS encounters on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three strikes, with both of these in-form attacks contributing.
