Aston Villa will look to maintain their 100% start to the league phase of the Champions League on Tuesday night as they travel to the Camp Nou to take on free-scoring Barcelona in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Hansi Flick’s hosts have fired in an impressive 57 goals across their opening 14 La Liga and Champions League fixtures this campaign, with 29 (51%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Catalan giants have found the back of the net in each of those 14 encounters, scoring 2+ in 13 (93%) of them – and 3+ goals in 11 (79%) of them – and are expected to add to their impressive goal tally against a Villa backline that has kept just three clean sheets in all competitions this season.
Unai Emery’s visitors have scored 26 goals across their opening 15 matches in all competitions this season, with 12 (46%) of them coming across their three Champions League fixtures.
The Villans have failed to score in just one of their previous 11 clashes in all competitions, scoring on multiple occasions in seven 964%) of them – including in all three in Europe – and will look to trouble a Barca backline that has failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their previous 17 Champions League fixtures.

Bet of the Day
Barcelona come into this clash as heavy favourites, but I fancy Aston Villa to get on the scoresheet in a high-scoring contest.
Barcelona’s opening 14 matches in all competitions this season have averaged a whopping 5.36 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 3.5 Goals paying out in six of their past nine La Liga contests – as well as in each of their opening three league phase fixtures.
Aston Villa’s three league phase fixtures have produced a whopping 15 goals, with Over 3.5 Goals landing on each occasion – with two also seeing goals at both ends – and I’m backing that trend to continue in Catalonia on Tuesday night.
