Football Bet of the Day 23rd august

Following on from Saturday’s early winner in Germany, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to La Liga, and I’m keen to get the runaway league leaders on side.

⚽️ Real Sociedad vs Barcelona

🇪🇸 La Liga

⏰ Sunday 10 November, 20:00

Barcelona will look to extend their lead back to nine points at the top of the La Liga table as they travel to the Reale Arena to take on inconsistent Real Sociedad in a fixture that I’m keen to get the free-scoring visitors on side.

Hansi Flick has made a sensational start to life as head coach of Barca, as they currently sit top of the La Liga table after winning 11 of their opening 12 matches (W11-D0-L1), scoring a remarkable 40 goals in the process.

Four of those goals came in their demolition of Real Madrid in the Bernabeu in their last away game in La Liga, and they since followed that up by defeating Catalonia rivals Espanyol 3-1 at home.

The Catalonians have made it three wins on the spin in the Champions League since their 2-1 defeat at Monaco on MD1, as they cruised to a 2-5 victory in Belgrade in midweek against perennial Serbian champions Crvena Zvezda.

Like their opponents, Real Sociedad were also in European action in midweek, but they fell to a 2-1 defeat in Czechia against Viktoria Plzen, leaving them on four points after four matches in the league phase of the Europa League.

It’s been a similar story for La Real domestically, with their 0-2 victory at Sevilla last time out still leaving them in 11th position, four points behind city-rivals Athletic Club in sixth.

The main reason for their lowly position is due to their terrible home record, with no side in La Liga collecting fewer than the four points Imanol Alguacil’s side have amassed in front of their supporters this season (W1-D1-L4), with their solitary victory coming against rock-bottom Valencia.

Bet of the Day

As already alluded to, Barca have been flying under Hansi Flick this season, with the Catalonia club winning 11 of their 12 La Liga contests (W11-D0-L1), scoring an incredible 40 goals in the process.

What’s more, Barca have W6-D1-L0 of their last seven La Liga trips to Anoeta, and I’m backing them to continue that record and heap more home misery on the hosts.
