Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Dutch Eerste Divisie. There’s two sides at home who I think will win to give us a nice solid double.
ADO Den Haag vs MVV
🇳🇱 Eerste Divisie
⏰ Friday 11th February, 19:00
ADO Den Haag will look to continue their quest for an immediate return to the Eredivisie, as they host struggling MVV at the Cars Jeans Stadion. The hosts come into this in second-place, whilst the visitors are sitting in a lowly 17th-placed position.
ADO Den Haag’s fine form continued last time out, as they won 0-1 away to Den Bosch. That result means Ruud Brood’s side have won 10 of their last 12 matches in the Eerste Divisie, losing just once. ADO Den Haag have one of the strongest home records in the division, collecting 28 points from a possible 36. Den Haag have W10-D2-L1 against bottom-half sides this season, with them winning all five at home. Only league-leaders Volendam have outscored Den Haag this season, with the club from The Hague finding the back of the net on 54 occasions
MVV’s woeful run of form continued last time out, as they were thumped 0-5 at home to VVV. That’s now seven successive defeats in the Eerste Divisie for Klaas Wels side, with them also without a win in their last 10. Only two sides have collected fewer points on their travels in the league than MVV, with them taking just nine from a possible 36. MVV have collected 23 points from their opening 25 fixtures this season, with all but four of them coming against sides positioned in the bottom-half. MVV have the third-worst defensive record in the league, conceding on 50 occasions.
Volendam vs AZ II
🇳🇱 Eerste Divisie
⏰ Friday 11th February, 19:00
Volendam will look to maintain their lead at the top of the Eerste Divisie, as they host an out-of-form AZ II at the Kras Stadion. The hosts are currently five points clear at the top, whilst the visitors are lying in 15th position.
Volendam managed to extend their unbeaten run in the league to 23, as they drew 1-1 away to promotion-chasing Roda JC last time out. Volendam have dropped just even points from their 12 matches at home, with Wim Jonk’s side winning eight of their last nine on home turf. Volendam have a record of W12-D2-L0 against bottom-half sides, with them winning all six at home. Volendam are the divisions highest-scorers, with de Palingboeren finding the back of the net on 56 occasions so far this season.
AZ II poor run of form continued last time out, as they lost 2-1 away to Ajax II, a result which helped bring up last Friday’s double. After winning five of their opening six matches of the season, AZ II have gone on to win just two of their following 18 matches, losing 12 of them. AZ II have the worst away record in the Eerste Divisie, with Kenneth Goudmijn’s youngsters collecting just seven points from a possible 36, with just one of those points coming in their last 10 matches. AZ II are the joint-lowest scorers in the division, with just nine of the 22 goals they’ve scored coming away from home.
Bet of the Day
ADO Den Haag have been in very good from in recent months and will expect to collect all three points at home to a struggling MVV side. The club from The Hague have won 10 of their last 12 in the league and should defeat a MVV side that’s failed to win any of their 10 matches, losing each of their last seven. Given Den Haag are the second-highest scorers in the league and MVV have the third-worst defence, I’m happy to add in over 1.5 goals alongside the home win. Volendam come into this on a 23-match unbeaten run and will be confident of defeating a seriously out-of-form AZ II side. Wim Jonk’s table-toppers have won eight of their last nine at home and should defeat an AZ II side that’s lost nine of their last 10 away from home.
