Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on both Serie A and the National League. I’ve picked a selection from each league in which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
Spezia vs Genoa
🇮🇹 Serie A
⏰ Tuesday 26th October, 17:30
Two sides at the wrong end of the Serie A table meet at the Stadio Alberto Picco as Spezia host Genoa. Spezia are currently positioned in 17th, one place and one point above their fellow Ligurians.
Spezia couldn’t build on their 2-1 win over Salernitana, as they were defeated 2-1 themselves by Sampdoria. Despite their lowly position, Spezia have scored in seven of their nine tussles in Serie A this season, including in their last three home games. Spezia have the leagues leakiest defence, conceding 22 goals and are yet to keep a clean sheet. Both teams to score has landed in 7/9 games this, including in each of their last three home matches.
Genoa couldn’t build on their comeback draw against Sassuolo, as Torino defeated them 3-2 last time out. Davide Ballardini’s side are now winless in their last six matches, winning only once all season. Genoa have only conceding one goal fewer than Spezia and they are also yet to keep a clean sheet. Like Spezia, Genoa have scored in seven of their nine Serie A games so far this season, scoring 14 goals. Genoa have actually scored on multiple occasions in four of their last five league games.
Chesterfield vs Eastleigh
🏴 National League
⏰ Tuesday 26th October, 19:45
Promotion chasing Chesterfield host mid-table Eastleigh at the Technique Stadium. The hosts currently sit in 2nd spot, four points behind leaders Grimsby Town. Eastleigh currently sit in 13th position and seven points outside the playoffs.
Chesterfield come into this after securing back to back league victories, defeating both Southend and Boreham Wood 0-4 and 2-1 respectively. The Spireites are still unbeaten at home this season, winning three out of five. Only league leaders Grimsby Town and 5th place Bromley have scored more than Chesterfield’s tally of 24 so far this season. Chesterfield have only failed to score once in their 12 games this season, scoring in all five home games. Chesterfield have scored on multiple occasions in all five home games.
Eastleigh also come into this winning their last two league games, defeating lowly Wealdstone and Altrincham. Eastleigh did concede in both of those victories and are one of only four sides yet to keep a clean sheet in the National League this season. Overall, Eastleigh have conceded 18 goals in 11 matches, with eight of them coming in their five away games. Eastleigh have already conceded on multiple occasions in their two matches away to sides in the top 5.
Bet of the Day
Two struggling sides in Serie A meet in a Ligurian derby in what should be a cracking encounter. Both these sides have two of the leakiest defences in Serie A but they’ve scored in 14 of their 18 combined matches. Both sides need the points, therefore we should see an open game and that should see both sides scoring. Chesterfield are going good guns in the National League and will look to collect another three points at home to Eastleigh. Chesterfield have only failed to score once all season, and with them scoring on multiple occasions in all five home games, I’m backing them to score at least twice here against an Eastleigh side yet to keep a clean sheet all season.
