In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 29 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
This is a blank gameweek for four teams as both Aston Villa an Crystal Palace miss out on a fixture, while Liverpool and Newcastle take on each other in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium. Thus, a number of FPL managers may struggle to field 11 players this week, so chips or even hits could be used in order to help navigate it.
Nonetheless, here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 29, if you own him, Erling Haaland is perhaps the most viable captaincy option given his goalscoring prowess, as Manchester City play host to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium.
However, for those who do not own Haaland or want to pick a differential captain, Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m) could be a nice option off the back of his hat-trick in Manchester United's 4-1 win at home to Real Sociedad in their UEFA Europa League (UEL) last-16 tie in midweek, as the Red Devils travel to struggling Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Fernandes is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 29, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem very tempting given his hat-trick in his last outing and the fact that Unite are playing a relegation-threatened Leicester side.
However, we would always advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) is just one of a number of players from AFC Bournemouth that look attractive in the game at the moment, as the Cherries have a favourable set of fixtures on paper coming up starting with the welcoming of Brentford to the Vitality Stadium.
However, FPL managers should be warned that the midfielder has been booked a total of eight times already in the 2024/25 campaign so far, among the highest in the Premier League, and just two more would see him serve a suspension.
Market-best odds on Antoine Semenyo to be booked: 4/1
Which defender is most likely to score?
Josko Gvardiol (£5.9m) is currently the Premier League's top-scoring defender with a total of five goals to his name so far in the 2024/25 campaign. City have a fairly nice run of fixtures on paper coming up, and the Croatia international could add to his tally at the Etihad when Brighton come to town.
Market-best odds on Josko Gvardiol to score anytime: 15/2
Our top three cheap in-form players
Callum Hudson-Odoi
Callum Hudson-Odoi (£5.2m) has scored a handy 21 points over the previous three gameweeks in FPL, as Nottingham Forest travel to a struggling Ipswich Town side next up in the Premier League. The Tricky Trees avoid a lot of the best-performing teams from now until the end of the season, so the English winger could even be worth a long-term hold.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.5m) has also scored 21 points in total over the last three gameweeks, and is at a very cheap and affordable price in FPL. West Ham United travel to Goodison Park to face Everton next in the Premier League, with a trip to Wolves to follow in the next gameweek.
Justin Kluivert
Justin Kluivert (£6.2m) is a popular pick among FPL managers at the moment, and it is easy to see why. Indeed, the Bournemouth midfielder has scored and assisted in his previous two Premier League matches in a Cherries shirt, takes penalties, and has a relatively kind set of fixtures on paper coming up, starting with Brentford at home over the weekend.
