In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 20 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
Gameweek 20 presents the first full round of Premier League fixtures in 2025, with some marquee matchups to look forward to including league leaders Liverpool facing off against bitter rivals Manchester United at Anfield. Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 20, if you own him, Mohamed Salah seems like the obvious captain choice given his incredible form for Liverpool, as he and his team host a struggling Manchester United side who have lost five of their last six games.
However, for those who do not own Salah or want to pick a differential captain, Cole Palmer (£11.4m) is another intriguing choice, as Chelsea travel to a Crystal Palace team still involved in a potential relegation battle.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 20, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem tempting given his recent form, and the fact that he boasts a good record for Liverpool against Manchester United.
However, we would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
FPL managers should always be looking for mid-priced defenders for their teams to help spread their budget elsewhere, and Chelsea's Marc Cucurella (£5.2m) fits the bill as the Blues are one of the best teams in the Premier League and the left-back holds both an attacking threat and a potential for clean sheets. However, Cucurella has already picked up a total of six yellow cards so far in the 2024/25 campaign, which managers need to be wary of when transferring him in.
Market-best odds on Marc Cucurella to be booked: 51/20
Which defender is most likely to score?
While Manchester City have been in terrible form with just two wins across 14 matches in total over all competitions, Josko Gvardiol (£6.0m) has still been coming up with goals. Indeed, the Croatia international is the highest-scoring defender in the division thus far with four goals to his name, and West Ham United, who conceded no fewer than five goals to Liverpool last time out, travel to the Etihad Stadium next.
Market-best odds on Josko Gvardiol to score anytime: 13/2
Our top three cheap in-form players
Jacob Murphy
For those FPL managers who are looking for a cheap enabler in midfield, Newcastle United's Jacob Murphy (£5.1m) certainly fits the bill. Indeed, he has scored a total of 42 points across the last five gameweeks, and Tottenham Hotspur should give the Magpies chances over the weekend with their style of play.
Morgan Gibbs-White
Nottingham Forest are flying in third place in the Premier League, and the impressive form of Morgan Gibbs-White (£6.4m) has played a big part in that. Indeed, the England international midfielder has scored 39 FPL points in total over the previous five gameweeks, and the Tricky Trees visit his old club Wolves over the weekend as firm favourites to take home all three points.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
FPL managers always need a cheaper goalkeeper in their squads in order to help spread the budget elsewhere, and Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.5m) as AFC Bournemouth's number one man between the sticks provides a solid option. Indeed, the Spaniard has kept a total of two clean sheets over his last three matches in the Premier League, and the Cherries have a favourable fixture on paper at home to Everton coming up.
