In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 12 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
Premier League football is back this weekend, as FPL managers stress over making transfers, playing chips and deciding who to captain for Gameweek 12. Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed decisions…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 12, if you own him, Mohamed Salah seems like the most obvious captain choice, with Liverpool travelling to St. Mary's Stadium to face a Southampton side who are currently bottom of the table in the Premier League.
However, for those FPL managers who do not own Salah or want to pick a cheaper differential captain, Cole Palmer could also be a viable option as Chelsea travel to another newly-promoted side in Leicester City.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 12, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem a smart choice given that Southampton are bottom of the league and the ‘Egyptian King' is in such good form, scoring in each of his last four matches in the Premier League and also contributing a further two assists.
However, we would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain.
Who is likely to get booked?
Some FPL managers may be tempted to bring in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto into their teams ahead of the Blues' trip to Leicester, as he is fairly kindly priced at £6.2m and scored against London rivals and title-challengers Arsenal in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge last time out. However, the Portugal international is currently on four yellow cards, and just one more would see him serve a one-game suspension.
Market-best odds on Pedro Neto to be booked: 19/5
Which defender is most likely to score?
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium in this weekend's round of fixtures, having found themselves a worrying nine and four points behind Liverpool and Manchester City respectively in the title race in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta's men still remain a big threat from set pieces, and Brazil international central defender Gabriel Magalhaes is usually their main aerial target, having scored two goals already in the 2024/25 campaign.
Market-best odds on Gabriel Magalhaes to score anytime: 8/1
Our top three cheap in-form players
Matheus Cunha
Still priced at under £7m (£6.8m), Matheus Cunha should be on the radar of all FPL managers if he is not already. The Brazilian forward has notched up an impressive 27 points in total over the last three gameweeks, and Wolves' relatively kind fixtures on paper coming up see them avoid playing a traditional ‘big six' team until Ruben Amorim's Manchester United visit Molineux in Gameweek 18.
Lewis Hall
Newcastle United have seen an uptick in form of late with encouraging 1-0 and 3-1 wins against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest respectively, and Lewis Hall scored an impressive eight points in FPL in the former victory at St. James' Park. Priced at just £4.4m, the left-back looks great value for money ahead of a relatively kind next set of fixtures for the Magpies, and he will also be buoyed by the fact that he earned his first senior international caps for England during the November international break.
Danny Welbeck
Danny Welbeck has enjoyed an impressive season with Brighton and Hove Albion so far, and is in-form ahead of the Seagull's relatively kind next fixtures. Indeed, the veteran English striker has made a total of four goal contributions across the previous five gameweeks, and boasts eight goal contributions to his name across the entirety of the 2024/25 camapign so far.
