It's Easter weekend, which means fixtures are all over the place in the English football pyramid. On Good Friday, we had a full selection of matches from the Championship, League One and League Two and on Easter Monday, we get the same again.
The Premier League follows a more standard schedule with fixtures pencilled in for today, tomorrow and Monday.
Our football pools tips this weekend will cover matches from the English top flight and a few from the EFL bonanza on Monday. As ever, we're looking to accumulate the most points based on the scoring system below:

Brighton vs Brentford (Premier League)
On Saturday afternoon, it's Brighton vs Brentford in the Premier League in a match between two teams who should be the template for teams coming up from the Championship. Both clubs have done well to survive and progress since their respective promotions and they are now two evenly matched sides.
As things stand, just one place separates the two teams in the middle of the Premier League table, and both have been drawing their fair share of games recently. Brentford have drawn their last two league matches, while Brighton have drawn two of their last four.
Aston Villa vs Newcastle (Premier League)
Another match between two very similar teams this weekend is Aston Villa vs Newcastle on Saturday night. Both teams are firmly in the race for a place inside the top four, with the visitors sitting pretty in third and Aston Villa part of the chasing pack in seventh, so there is plenty on the line in this match.
Aston Villa have found winning matches directly after Champions League fixtures difficult this season, and they have drawn on three of these occasions throughout the season. After their brilliant winning streak in the league, Newcastle would happily take a draw here to solidify their position in the top four.
Ipswich vs Arsenal (Premier League)
After Arsenal's triumphant victory in the Bernabeu on Wednesday night, Mikel Arteta will more than likely use this match as an opportunity to rest players as they prepare for their upcoming semi-final with PSG. Those changes could open the door to Ipswich, who are going down to the Championship swinging.
Arsenal have become the draw specialists in the Premier League in 2025, with three of their last five league matches all finishing level. Ipswich, meanwhile, have drawn nine times this season – more than any other club in the bottom seven.
Luton Town vs Bristol City (Championship)
Luton Town vs Bristol City is a monumental match in the Championship on Easter Monday with promotion and relegation both on the line. Luton have found some form in recent weeks and are now just inside the bottom three on goal difference.
A big part of their resurgence has been their ability to pick up draws that otherwise would have been defeats. They have drawn three of their last six league matches. Bristol City, meanwhile, have been consistent drawers all season with 16 to their name from 43 Championship matches.
Hull City vs Preston (Championship)
Our final football pools tip this weekend comes from the MKM Stadium where Hull City will take on Preston. The visitors have become the new bankers in the pools with no team in the English football pyramid drawing more matches (19) than the Lilywhites this season.
Hull City wouldn't mind a draw on Monday as it would at least ensure they are outside the bottom three for another week. The Tigers have drawn eight times at home this season, a number beaten by only three Championship clubs.
