Bruno Lage’s side won that battle by an aggregate scoreline of 4-3, with the two teams sharing six goals in a frantic 3-3 draw in Lisbon.
That was hot on the heels of a barnstorming 5-4 defeat when Benfica hosted Barcelona during the league phase of the competition.
With the pair set to renew hostilities this midweek, another action-packed contest could be on the cards.

PSG vs Liverpool (Wednesday, 20:00)
PSG and Liverpool will lock horns in one of the standout ties in the last 16 of this season’s Champions League.
After a sluggish start to their European campaign, PSG finished the league phase strongly thanks to three successive victories.
However, that wasn’t enough to secure automatic qualification for the round of 16, with Luis Enrique's side having to see off Brest in the play-off round with a resounding 10-0 aggregate win.
The French giants can expect a much tougher test when they take on a Liverpool team that finished top of the league phase thanks to seven wins from eight.
Both teams scored in three of PSG’s four home games during the league phase and that trend could continue against the Reds this midweek.
There have been goals at both ends in two of Liverpool’s four Champions League away games this season, not to mention BTTS landed in their home game with Lille.
