Fresh off the back of winning the Premier League golden boot, Harry Kane is unsurprisingly the 11/2 (Bet 365) favourite to win the same award at Euro 2020.

However, I'd be more inclined to look one place down the book and back Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku for top goalscorer honours at 15/2 with Betway.

Lukaku is Belgium's all-time leading marksmen and he recently totted up his 60th international strike – a landmark he reached faster than the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

What's more, Lukaku will be brimming with confidence after having a season to remember with Serie A winners Inter Milan.

Lukaku has banged in 64 goals in just two seasons at the San Siro and he enters this Summer's showpiece at the peak of his powers.

The powerful forward notched four times at the 2018 World Cup and he scored seven goals in just five appearances in Euro 2020 qualifying.

The Belgian goal getter should get plenty of opportunities to stake his claim for the golden boot in what should be a routine group for the Red Devils.

Lukaku is very much the full package and he could make a fast start in a section that features Denmark, Finland and Russia.

Anything else catch the eye?

Ciro Immobile hasn't yet replicated his superb club form in an Italy shirt but he could seize his moment to shine on the grand stage this Summer.

The Lazio striker arrives at the Euros off the back of another strong season in Serie A in which he slammed in 20 goals.

Immobile also made the net bulge in Italy's final warm-up fixture and he will be eager to continue that trend when playing in familiar surroundings during the group stage of the competition.

Given that Italy have home advantage and a favourable draw, Immobile could be just the ticket at a tasty 22/1 with William Hill.

Long Shot

Portugal will naturally look to Cristiano Ronaldo for inspiration but their support cast is stronger than ever and one player who looks overpriced to land the top goalscorer award is Diogo Jota who's a whopping 66/1 shot with Bet 365.

The Liverpool forward showed flashes of huge ability when chipping in with 13 goals in an injury-hit maiden season on Merseyside.

The 24-year old looks like a natural finisher and it's worth noting that he has already racked up six strikes in 13 appearances for a nation that could be hard to stop this Summer.

Jota is half of the aforementioned price elsewhere and 66/1 (Bet 365) quotes on him bagging the golden boot just looks too big to me.

Recommended Bets

  • Romelu Lukaku top goalscorer – 15/2 (Betway)
  • Ciro Immobile top goalscorer– each-way – 22/1 (William Hill)
  • Diogo Jota top goalscorer – each-way – 66/1 (Bet 365)

Can’t argue with picks mentioned above.
Neymar 9/2 top scorer Copa Amerca
Mbappe 9/1 top scorer Euro 2020

    Double pays 54/1 with Hills

Neymar has hardly played this year and Mbappe is a big stage player both should bag goals if both teams are regarded favourites to win the tournaments.
