Best Australian Open betting tips for day 9
Sonego vs Tien over 3.5 sets @ 3/6
Learner Tien has played superb tennis so far, beating the likes of Daniil Medvedev. He now has to take on Lorenzo Sonego, who is also a very volatile tennis player. At times, Sonego can be really good, but at other times, really poor. Overall, though, it reads like a matchup that won’t be simple for either player to win.
Sonego’s own streakiness means that he’s very likely to both win and drop a set. That should ensure this is a match that will go on for three sets at least. This is why we’re backing this market, because we simply can’t see either player not really dropping a set.
It’s a big match for both, and there will be some nerves present, so the outcome will likely reflect that.
Sinner vs Rune under 3.5 sets @ 4/6
Jannik Sinner has slowly started to play his best tennis. He didn’t drop a single set in his most recent match, and we’re likely going to see that happen in this one. It isn’t so much that Holger Rune can’t win a set against him; it’s mostly that he hasn’t really played well enough.
Rune has traditionally given Sinner some problems, but we think the Italian will be very keen to keep this one as simple as possible, which is why he will push for a straight sets win and ultimately get it.
Swiatek vs Lys under 19.5 games @ 3/6
Iga Swiatek has also really started to shine on the court, as the demolition of Raducanu proves. She’s likely to keep that going, and while Eva Lys can be tricky, the Polish player has had no issues when she faced her in the past.
It was a 6-1, 6-1 beatdown last meeting, and we’re likely to see that again. Swiatek is indeed a much better player compared to Lys, and she is very likely to show that on the courts. We don’t even need a beatdown like the 6-1, 6-1 because a 6-3, 6-4 will be enough. It would be very surprising if Lys managed to push this match any closer.
