The sixth day of the Australian Open is here, with the third round getting underway. That means we have some really interesting matchups, so let's take a closer look at the best Australian Open betting tips this Friday.
Best Australian Open betting tips for day 6
Draper vs Vukic over 32.5 games @ 3/6
Jack Draper scored a huge win over Thanasi Kokkinakis, and that was after he was down 2-1 in sets. Vukic scored an equally impressive win over Sebastian Korda, and now they're going to face each other.
This matchup will most likely end up being a close match. Draper is widely expected to win the match, but Aleksandar Vukic could also pull through. He’s been having a really solid week and is generally not easy to beat. Bear in mind that Draper has had health issues recently, and we never know when that is going to rear its head again.
The over on this line is basically a gift considering that four sets should be expected here. We don’t see either player being able to win in straight sets, and with the line being 32.5, four sets should push this over.
Fearnley vs Zverev over 29.5 games @ 3/6
This is another match where the line seems to be a bit too low. Yes, Alexander Zverev has been amazing so far, smashing opponents left and right, but he’s still a player who does tend to drop sets quite often.
Jacob Fearnley has a massive serve which should make most sets quite close. He also plays quite aggressively and with the line being only 29.5, we have to take the over.
We don’t even need four sets to hit, and there should be at least four sets. If not, we’re confident Fearnley can keep this something like a 6-4, 6-3, 7-5, which would be enough.
Gauff vs Fernandez under 21.5 games @ 3/6
This is another interesting matchup but one that we don’t think will suit Leylah Fernandez too much. Coco Gauff is very quick around the court and puts decent pressure on her opponent, which is likely to trouble Fernandez greatly.
We think the Canadian is heading towards a rather simple defeat in two sets, which should go under this line. Even something like 6-4, 6-4 is more than enough for Gauff to cover this line, hence the play.
