Day three of the Australian Open brings us the last of the round one matches. There are some brilliant clashes in the pipeline, and we’re the best when it comes to Australian Open predictions. Here are our best bets to make this Tuesday.
Best Australian Open betting tips for day three
Matteo Berrettini vs Cameron Norrie over 3.5 sets @ 1/2
Cameron Norrie plays tennis without complicating it too much. He does the basics well and rarely gets blown off the court. That’s exactly what this pick needs because Matteo Berrettini is far from his best. At his best, he could blow Norrie off the court, but these days, not really.
The British player has a high chance of winning at least one set, as does Berrettini, which mathematically ensures that this set is a minimum of four sets. The only match they played so far went the distance. This just proves this a tight matchup which will likely go to at least four, so take these odds of 1/2 and run with it.
Katie Boulter to beat Rebecca Marino 2-0 @ 3/5
There is little Rebecca Marino can do to win a set against Katie Boulter. Marino is all about the serve. She’s not very good from the baseline and doesn’t move all too well either. Who does? Boulter.
The Brit moves well for somebody that tall with a powerful serve and a much better baseline game. She’ll put Marino under a lot of pressure and that will ensure two simple sets. The two matches they played so far were straight set wins and on two different surfaces too. The results were 6-4, 6-4 and 6-3, 6-1.
Emma Raducanu to beat Ekaterina Alexandrova @ 3/5
Emma Raducanu is apparently fit enough to play at the Australian Open. We’ll believe it and back her to beat Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Nobody really wants to be playing the Russian in round one because she can be very tough to beat. She’s also very streaky, so there is a good chance that she plays poorly. We’ll bank on Raducanu being fit, in which case she is the better player and should be able to win, no matter how ugly it might end up being.
