OLYMPIC SWIMMING
MEN 100 AND 200 METRE BUTTERFLY
all the talk in the 100 and 200 metre butterfly is of the duel between the great Michael phelps and the south African chad le closs.
im definitely opposing these 2 in the 200 with world leader Laszlo cseh priced at 6-4.
he is world leader by over a second this year and although aged 30 is doing some of his best ever swims this year, and is a year younger than phelps anyway
I will also be backing him in the 100 at 9-2 as he is world leader in this as welL, and is the only man under 51 seconds this year. and this event could see phelps and le closs cut each other up and cseh could get a sneaky win.
this years seasons best by cseh was also a career best.
phelps has swam a lot quicker in the past, but has taken a break recently ans his world record was swam 8 years ago.
Laszlo cseh 200 metre butterfly 6-4 NAP
Laszlo cseh 100 metre butterfly 9-2 NB
I like the look at that Cseh in the 200m, will be on that one.

No idea why some of the totals are so low for many of the NFL pre-season games starting next week. Especially the first one which sees my Packers play the Indianapolis Colts in Canton, Ohio. This won’t be Aaron Rodgers vs Andrew Luck though. The Packers were hurt last season by off season injuries and Mike McCarthy will be sure to keep his stars from seeing too much action on Sunday. However it will be an intriguing match-up at QB at times with ex Packer Scott Tolzien likely seeing the most snaps at QB for the Colts. He will be eager to show some revenge against the team that let him enter free agency. On the other side of the ball will be Brett Hundley who had arguably the best pre-season of any QB in the league last year. He’ll look to add to that this year. Jordy Nelson is being protected and hasn’t seen many reps at training camp this week and I doubt he will play at all on Sunday. Ty Montgomery is also on the PUP list so that’s another receiver who likely won’t see any action. The talk of the training camp though is the competition the Packers have at WR with Nelson and Cobb sealed in stone as 1 and 2, but questions being asked of the order from there with five other receivers looking for a role in the final 53 man roster.
Second year player Ty Montgomery was productive until an ankle injury ended his season early which is when we really started to struggle in the passing game.
Third year player Davante Adams received much criticism last year for his performances when we needed him most and the bigger role looked to get the better of him so will be keen to turn it around this year.
Another third year receiver is Jared Abbrederis. A fan favourite for his Wisconsin blood played well in the playoffs, but for me is one of the five to possibly miss out on a final roster spot unless the Packers go all out and keep 7 which they could have the room to with only two QB’s and one Fullback this season.
Third third and final third year receiver on the Packers roster is perhaps the biggest fan favourite of them all. Jeff Janis was hyped up even before his excellent performance in the playoff loss in Arizona, and his ‘two’ Hail Mary catches to take it to OT won him even more fans. Until this year he was the fastest receiver on the Packers roster but lacked the route running ability and like Adams and Abbrederis is looking to make the jump and become a key member.
The final receiver vowing for a spot is Trevor Davis. For me, the Packers wouldn’t have drafted this young man if they weren’t going to keep him on the roster. I watched him at the combine and was very impressed by his all round talent. Speed, agility and good hands. He dropped to the fifth round which I thought was a steal considering his QB at college (Jared Goff) went 1st overall. He has speed to burn anyone and will be a dangerous kick returner if he can get a spot on the 53, and judging by the reports coming out of training camp, he’s making good impressions.
Bit of a write up to add to my Packers NFC North Title bet there but it also ties in with the fact I think we’ll see more than 36 points in the game Monday morning.
