IT'S the final weekend of the challenge and McBookie's Paul Petrie is on course to win again and extend his 100 per cent record.
In the season-long standings McBookie.com man Petrie has won £286.91 to £10 stakes while William Hill's Owen Scott is on £72.25. As is tradition the contest ends with both placing three x £10 singles on the Scottish Junior Cup Final which on Sunday features Auchinleck Talbot and Musselburgh at Kilmarnock's Rugby Park.
I can't see Talbot slipping up but Owen disagrees and is taking a punt on the underdogs from the East Super League.
Owen writes: Perennial Scottish Junior Cup finalists Auchinleck Talbot are red-hot favourites to land the big prize. Musselburgh are their surprise opponents although they pair met at this stage four years ago when Talbot won after extra time.
West champs Talbot are going for the Double and having hammered holders Hurlford 5-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals it's easy to see why they are odds-on favourites.
Talbot are 1-6 with William Hill to win the trophy after beginning the season as 8-1 favourites and 1-3 to win in 90 minutes.
Musselburgh's form has been poor since knocking out Linlithgow Rose and they are 7-2 at Hills to pick up the silverware and 5-1 to win in 90 minutes and maybe they're saving their best for last.
Musselburghs go into the match in poor form as since knocking Linlithgow Rose out in the Semi Finals 5-4 on aggregate they have only won two matches but maybe they are saving the best for last.
Talbot striker David Gormley is 4-1 favourite to net first goal but he will be hoping he isn't called on to play in goals again after saving a penalty in the semi-finals after Talbot's keeper was sent off. He also went in goals in a recent Ayrshire Cup match against Irvine Vics.
These sides are no strangers at this level as they met each other in the Final in 2010-11 at Rugby Park. On that day goals from Bryan Young and Mick McCann secured a 2-1 victory for Talbot in extra time.
It finished 1-1 after 90 minutes with Musselburgh equalising with 14 minutes to go. Extra Time had barely started when Young netted the goal that would eventually win the Cup for Talbot. Young to score in a Talbot win in 90 minutes pays 11-5.
Jordyn Sheerin is Musselburgh's top scorer this season and if you think he can come up trumps on Sunday he is 7-1 to score in a Burgh success.
Owen's tips
Sheerin to score first (11-2)
Musselburgh to win 2-1 (16-1)
Draw HT/Musselburgh FT (11-1)
Paul writes: Talbot are the red-hot 1-5 favourites to lift the Cup and 4-9 to win in 90 minutes. Musselburgh can be backed at 18-5 to win in regulation time or 16-5 just to win the Cup.
We have over 40 markets on the site so there should be plenty of opportunities to find some winners. For my first £10 I am backing Talbot -1 on the handicap at 6-5.
I watched Musselburgh a few weeks ago and although they were resting players I wasn’t overly impressed. If Talbot can make a quick start they can win with a bit in hand.
On the correct score market I am going for Talbot to win 3-0 at 10-1. Jordyn Sheerin has scored plenty goals this season so the Auchinleck defence will have to be on top form to keep a clean sheet though.
Finally, I am going for Bryan Young to score first at 11-1. He is a big-game player and with me being uncertain as to who will start up front for Talbot he could be some value having netted in the previous final between the clubs.
