NAPOLI are aiming to make it four wins in a row and stay in contention for a Champions League spot tonight. Empoli are unbeaten at home since January 26 but haven't won a Serie A game since March 22.

Last weekend's 2-2 result at Atalanta was their second straight draw and dropped the Tuscan outfit to 16th place but 12 points clear of the relegation zone.

Empoli have defender Lorenzo Tonelli available after he appealed his one-match ban as punishment after allegedly threatening to kill Ataknta striker German Denis and his family during their game.

Napoli are without midfielders Juan Zuniga and Jonathan De Guzman but Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain, who struck twice against Sampdoria at the weekend to increase his season tally to 15 goals, will lead the attack.

Valencia and Rayo have met three times already this season with the sides playing out a 4-4 thriller in the Copa del Rey back in December and Valencia winning 2-1 away after extra time.

A Europa League place has been sealed but the dream of Champions League football and three points is a must. Pablo Piatti is set to return to the Valencia squad after a three-week absence with a hamstring injury while Enzo Perez could start having come off the bench last time out on his comeback from a similar problem.

Rayo sit 11th in the table on the back of three defeats in four and only basement side Cordoba have lost more games than the Madrid club. Espanyol were played off the park by city rivals Barcelona at the weekend and hope to bounce back at second-bottom Granada.

Coach Sergio Gonzalez has close to a full strength squad with injured Felipe Mattioni and suspended Hector Moreno unavailable. His opposite number Abel Resino has a much longer injury list and will be without Eddy Silvestre, Jeison Murillo, Javi Marquez, Emanuel Insua and Juan Carlos Perez.

The 4-0 thumping Granada suffered at Valencia on Monday saw them join Rayo Vallecano as the team with the worst defence in the league and they are six points from safety with five games remaining.

You’ve said in the same post that Empoli’s defender is both available and unavailable.
