THIS is the 16th time the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta has hosted the Tour Championship, 10 of those as the final of FedEx Cup play-offs.
With $10million up for grabs for the FedEx champion there is a lot to play for. East Lake has increased in length to 7385 yards, which is second longest in all par 70s in non-Majors this season. There have been other alterations that make driving accuracy, hitting greens and probably sinking putts so vital.
With solo seconds in his last two outings Paul Casey has hit form at the right time. He lost out to a resurgent Rory McIlroy in the Deutsche Bank and then to the dominant Dustin Johnson so his form is excellent.
In those tournaments he has averaged over 70 per cent fairways hit and his GIR stat is even more impressive, standing at over 77 per cent. His putter has also been working well with an average of 0.5 strokes gained:putting. In his last two appearances at East Lake he finished T4 (2010) and T5 (2015). Can it be third time lucky? It wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
Another player who has the required stats is Russell Knox. The Scot should have been in the Ryder Cup team and might just show Darren Clarke he made a mistake not picking him. The stats from his last two FedEx play-offs show he also has the stats required for a win here. In the Deutsche Bank and the BMW his DA averaged nearly 80 per cent, with GIR around 73 per cent and strokes gained:putting averaging 0.58. So what’s not to like.

On your two and also Ryan Moore ew who I got at 50/1 but has not dropped to a best price of 40/1. Other than the BWW Championship he has looked great since winning the John Deere and has actually come 3rd in this event back in 2012
D Johnson 9/2
P casey 16/1 ew
Craig, really fancy big DJ for this one but thought 9/2 best price was very short. God luck with your picks.
