IT'S a big weekend in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen hoping to go top on Saturday and Celtic out to return to the perch on Sunday.
Celtic lead the Dons by one point are 1-10 with Ladbrokes to be top on New Year's day with Aberdeen 11-2.
Thanks to old boss Mark McGhee's help last week Aberdeen should hit the summit by beating Inverness at home. They might be no bigger than 8-13 at Coral but it's good enough for me as they go for five wins in a row.
Adam Rooney has been the man banging in the goals but Ash Taylor has netted in two of his last three matches against ICT and is 6-1 with William Hill to strike again.
While McGhee would have been delighted to leave another of his former clubs Celtic empty handed last week he'll be even more pleased to bag three points today that would banish any chance of automatic relegation.
Well travel to Dundee United 11 points clear of the bottom dogs and will win if they play half as well as they did last week.
William Hill offer value on the away at 21-10 and while United are harder to beat under Mixu Paatelainen they haven't won in seven. If you want to keep the stalemate on side Well draw no bet is over evens at 6-5 with McBookie.
Lewis Moult, who hit both goals at Celtic, is 13-2 at McBookie to score first and 21-10 at bet365 to net at any time.
Partick Thistle are another team to have won their last four but face a St Johnstone side with seven away wins on the spin. That makes it tough to call at Firhill and the way Saints games have gone this season best bet could be both to score at 11-12 with 888sport.
Hamilton and Kilmarnock were both hammered 4-0 last week so something has to give when they meet at New Douglas. Killie's display seemed worse than Accies so I'll risk the home at 5-6 with William Hill.
Half of the last 10 meetings between Ross County and Dundee have finished in score draws and another today pays 3-1 at William Hill.
In the Championship Falkirk are 1-2 with McBookie and others to follow their defeat of Rangers by beating Dumbarton at home. Will Vaulks has netted in three of Falkirk's last four home matches and is 23-10 with William Hill to score again.
Elsewhere in the Championship St Mirren could claim their first home win of the season at the ninth attempt and are 11-10 against a Livingston team who have axed boss Mark Burchill.
In League One best bets could be Peterhead at 29-20 with Ladbrokes at managerless Airdrie while in League Two the standout bets are Stirling Albion.
Stirling are currently the form side in the division and after beating leaders Annan last week it's a surprise to see them as big as 23-20 at home to off-form East Fife.
Bets to Consider
Motherwell DNB
Hamilton
St Mirren
Peterhead
Stirling
