It was another profitable day on Friday as Rizz managed to land two winners with Fairbanks and No Half Measures.
My sole selection Heavens Gate looked awkward when asked to go and win the race while Rizzel's other selection Mousey Brown didn't stay the trip.
Saturday's racing is filled with quality but from a punting angle looks as tough as ever. We've two selections each from between the meetings at Newmarket, York, and Ascot.
Cairnzy's Tips
Carrytheone 7/2 – Newmarket 4.00
My first selection for Saturday's racing is the Michael Bell-trained Carrytheone who despite being one of the older horses in the race, comes here with a massive chance of an unchanged mark of 101. Ryan Moore has been booked for the ride and if going of his previous couple of runs, he still looks ahead of the handicapper in my opinion.
Originally trained in Ireland by J P Murtagh, Carrytheone switched hands to Michael Bell at the start of the year. His first two outings for his new trainer were a tad underwhelming finishing midpack on both occasions over 7f at Ascot and Newmarket. He bounced back to form two runs ago when landing a class 2 handicap at Newmarket over 7f. He only won by a short head that day but the winning distance doesn't tell the whole story. Carrytheone was denied a clear run on more than one occasion and had he had a clear passage, he probably would have won by a few lengths and he seemingly had a lot in hand that day.
His most recent run at Royal Ascot in the Buckingham Palace Stakes was another cracking effort, finishing 4L behind English Oak in third. It was a similar scenario for Carrytheone that day as he was positioned alongside the rail and had little racing room to put down his effort in the business end. Once in the clear, he rattled home to knick third spot, and had he been positioned better for a clear run, I think he would have finished a lot closer to the eventual winner. The booking of Ryan Moore looks key to this selection, we all know he is one of the best in the business and if he can get Carrytheone in a nice position to challenge, he will surely be bang there at the finish.
Quddwah 13/8 – Ascot 2.20
This doesn't look like the strongest of renewals and I'll be disappointed if Quddwah isn't able to justify favoritism for punters in this contest.
Trained by Charlie Fellowes, Quddwah was a combination of both impressive and immature last year. He very much learned on the job on debut at Salisbury, running around in the final furlong or so but getting up between horses to win by a neck to the Ralph Beckett-trained Balance Play. The form of that race reads well with Balance Play going on to win multiple races since, most recently last year when winning a class 2 handicap at Newbury on heavy ground by just under 2L.
Quddwah followed up on his debut success two weeks later at Newbury, winning by one and a quarter lengths to Theatre Honours. Quddwah again showed signs of inexperience that day ( awkward head carriage ) but showed a good attitude to pick up the pieces in the final two furlongs and won with a decent amount in hand. Quddwah was then given a break of just under a year, I'm assuming it was to develop and mature in that period.
The time of the track seemed to work a treat for my selection as he returned in May to land a listed contest at Ascot, getting up on the line to beat Docklands by a neck with the favorite Maljoom back in third. The form of that run also reads well, with both Docklands and Maljoom placing second and third at Royal Ascot in the Group 1 Queen Anne.
Rizzel's Tips
Lou Lou's Gift 7/2 – Newmarket 2.12
I think this race is going to be about the improving fillies who are rated at the bottom of this race, with the William Buick ridden Lou Lou's Gift being my selection.
This lightly raced filly is the model of consistency, as she hasn't finished out of the top three on all of her starts to date. She has also done nothing but improve, with her winning on her final start as a juvenile, and has then come back with a solid third on her first start over 7f, and then managed to win her second race of her career last time out over today's C&D.
The form of the third-placed effort at Kempton on the AW looks solid. At the time, I had a feeling that the race was going to work out well as the winner was strongly hyped up by Richard Hughes, who said she had been aimed at the Wokingham for the best part of a year, she didn't exactly run great in that race but then went to France and won a Listed contest, which heavily boosted Lou Lou Gift's third-place behind her. The fourth, fifth and eighth-placed horses have all come out and won since, franking the form further.
Lou Lou's Gift was strongly fancied in the market when winning at Newmarket last time out, going off at odds of 10/11F. She recorded an RPR of 98 (+17 to her handicap mark on the day), and the three horses behind her all ran to form based on their RPRs, so it's a good indicator that she has improved a fair amount from her first run of the season, battering horses who have run well in defeat. She has gone up 7lbs in the handicap, which seems fine as that performance could've seen her raised a couple more. The ground should not be an issue as she is by Lope De Vega who has produced many soft ground horses, so the expected good to soft ground should be fine based on her pedigree.
The two horses below her in the weights for this race were my idea of the main threats. The Ralph Beckett horse has gone up 15lbs in the handicap for her runaway success at Chelmsford. This is a totally different ball game, but she's evidently in good form. The Karl Burke horse has to be respected as she won on this C&D a few weeks ago and put in a visually impressive performance.
Remaadd 10/1 – York 3.10
Putting up a selection in one of the toughest handicaps of the year might seem a little odd, but Remaadd looks good value in the John Smith's Cup at York.
It is strange to see a three-year-old in this race, as it is very difficult to even get into this race for a young horse due to the nature of how handicaps like this are virtually Class 1 races with a wig on and when the younger horses get the weight for age allowance, they have to be high rated to even get a squeak in at the bottom of the weights. Remaadd gets into this race running off 8st 9lbs and is rated 103, which is 10lbs more than the older horses carrying the same race weight. There has only been one three-year-old who has run in this race since 2011, and that proves how difficult it is, and that it's not a usual target for the younger horses who are rated 100+ as Listed and Group races are what they would be racing in. Other than the one runner in 2019, a three-year-old won this race in 2010 and that horse was the sole runner of his age group in that race, so it's not a bad strike rate.
William Haggas is a very shrewd trainer when it comes to races like this. He will not run a horse of this nature, especially when the stats suggest not many turn up to this race, unless he firmly believes he can win it. William is a Yorkshire lad but trains in Newmarket, and he loves having winners at this venue, as his strike rate would suggest (17% from 668 runners). Haggas won this race in 2011, 2013 and 2020 so he definitely knows the type of horse which is required, and that is normally a group horse. Based on his runs to date, Remaadd fits that bill. He was third in a Group 3, he was poor in Listed company last time out but that was over a mile, and with just five runs under his belt he should be a key player in this race, despite his inexperience.
Hello all 😁
It’s been a long time 😖 .
I’m not even sure where to post anymore but any of the originals around?

Welcome back Uncle Pom nice to see you on once again and hope all is good with you.
Unfortunately Dougie (papa smurf) passed away and not sure what JohnB is up to these days but is no longer takes part in the thread.

Nice winner Pom
Great to have you back
The money came for Inthenickoftime but he never got involved in the end. I’ve put him into my tracker though as I’m sure the yard will want their money back especially when wearing those colours. You never know with Galway not too far away they could be prepping him for that, you just never know.
I’m just doing 1 bet today and it’s in the July cup 4.35 Newmarket.
Vandeek / Inisherin RF
I think the 3yr olds are a superior crop to the older horses in the race but just can’t pick a winner so I’ll gladly let them fight out the finish between themselves.

DC nice to see you on here still going strong hope they have been running well for you 👌🏻
sorry to hear that (RIP papa Smurf ) ❤️

If you’re doing points make sure you keep them updated for clarity.
Too many times people do points then they disappear when they go the wrong way and then reset to zero when returning .
personally I think doing points is divisive and shows nothing.
Like the 2 man threads we have now, one can hide a bad run behind the other tipsters winners.
No need for it especially now with 8 horses a day put up as tips to follow, just pot luck if you pick the right ones.
DC is the template people should use for contributing here .
Put up tips with prices and a bit of reasoning, if they win it’s a good day, if they lose you can bet he has researched the tip and that’s the gamble.
Then tomorrow is another day, move on , not carrying the baggage from yesterdays losers with you as that influences tomorrow’s tips by trying to claw back yesterdays losses.
Sermon over ✝️ amen 😁.
Ps
Welcome back POM
the more the merrier or many hands make light work as they say 🏇🏇 good luck 🤞
How can anyone hide behind anyone’s losses, when the tips are clearly highlighted with headings for who has posted what? You can see if I or Rizz have posted a losing selection because it tells you 🤣
I post a 10/1 winner the other day then have a losing day yesterday but Rizz picks two winners to pick up the pieces. The thread remains in profit and the punter is quids in. But yet you find away to pull the thread down with utter negativity? As we’ve said before, if you don’t like the tips or don’t like the points system then draw a blind eye to it and do your own thing.
You say point tracking is pointless but yet every top site point tracks. Can only assume you are stuck in your old ways Elvis.
Well agree to disagree.
Your 10-1 winner is pointless if your next 5 lose but if rizzells win that keeps you in profit ?.
Absolute nonsense, well agree to disagree and move on I think.
Longchamp 🇫🇷
6-02
candala 11-4 NAP 🏇
Has 3 lengths to make up with survie on french derby form but had a wide draw and a rough passage that day.
Survie went off 40-1 that day and had a decent passage so hoping given clear runs candala can turn it round.
The one doubt is the 1 mile 3 distance being a Frankel will he see it out .
If he doesn’t mosaique 8-1 maybe an ew option
7-17 longchamp 🇫🇷
Mondo man
11-4 top 3 finish HILLS (single)
9-1 ew extra 4 places bet365.
Ran 2 decent races recently in the french derby and behind the other french horse calandagan at royal Ascot
16-1 doesn’t reflect these runs imo
Longchamp Short price double
6-37 shambala 5-4
7-52 maniatic 8-13
Pays just over 5-2.
SKYBET
Shambala holds sober and double major on 2 recent meetings with those rivals
Maniatic is taking a big class drop here reflected in its starting price
Personally I do it more for myself.
If it’s not allowed/ unwanted, that’s cool I’ll remove the points 👍
Pom, if you want to do your own points pal, you fire away. Not doing anyone any harm.
Good to have you back
It’s fine doing points as long as they are updated over the long term and not removed when a bad run occurs.
each to their own as rizzell says.
Whatever the aim is to make bookies satchels lighter isn’t it 💥
Cairnzy not rizzell.
There are so many tipsters here I’m getting confused 🤣
No worries 👍

What you been up to in the meantime mate ?
Thanks Elvis,
Not much, loss of my father was very hard on me, so buried myself away for a while.
concentrated on work and the the family.
Now in a very good place in my life 😁
Glad to be back doing the horses no other feeling like it 👌🏻
There is no time set to get over bereavement as every one of us are different but sounds like you have started to move on in a positive way which is good to hear
Indeed I too find this site a form of escapism.
Family always comes first as you suggest but I treat this horse/footy betting as a hobby as I’m a lazy git and can’t be arsed walking etc.
I do enough of that as a postie anyway.
I’ve gone down to a 3 day week now as I’ve turned 60, life/work balance thing so need another focus to spread the day out and sport fills that void nicely.
I’m off to uttoxeter next Wednesday, looking forward to that, hardly watched any live racing since COVID bar Cheltenham and a couple of local meetings at Bangor and Chester.

How is it profitable when basically your running 2 pages? Plus what I don’t understand is if these 4 are your best bets then why is that not the lucky 15? I can’t understand that at all?
Spot on.
If there is a need for 2 tipsters which I don’t think there is, never has been before in the 13+ years I’ve been on this site they should have separate threads then us day to day punters can decide who we follow based on form or select from each thread to formulate our own bets.
I’ve said it’s a kop out which may seem a bit harsh to some, pointless me at be a better phrase to use.
Where has 13 years of mr fix it tips got you ? A nice house in Monte Carlo 😂
Elvis you literally just said earlier in the thread that you’re not going to mention it again and you’ll have to agree to disagree, yet here we are watching you slate it again.
We get it, you’re not a fan of it. But stop flooding the thread with negativity.
As Cairnzy has already mentioned, if you don’t like it, don’t bet what is put up etc. It really isn’t difficult to understand.
I just don’t understand it . I know it’s a free thread but putting 8 horses up a day (most when they do win are usually short eg 2/1. But on this page if you fancy them 4 horses then why is that not the lucky 15? I think your trying to cover bets eg if a lucky 15 lands it’s all yeeeeehaaaaa we won so much but most days your down. Sure you will have a excuse for the horse beaten by a neck today!
?
If all else fails can always go into snail farming with azz 😂
They deleted my comment and somehow put yours in my name
I don’t know why they even let Hayley turner sit on a horse she’s finished but she’s still hanging on bless her 😂

Tina turner got more chance of winning on a horse than Hayley turner 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 made me giggle that 🙏👍

Seabiscuit I’ve never read so much nonsense in my entire life pal.
Short? Rizz had an 8/1 winner a few days ago and I had a 10/1 winner. Don’t like the tips then don’t follow. If double figure priced winners were that easy to find then we would all be at it. Your 2/1s are your bread and butter in this game and if you back them and they win then ultimately you’ve nothing to complain about.
MFT wanted a L15 thread introduced to the page and we’ve introduced it. We don’t make the rules if you don’t like it, then again don’t follow it. I’m sick and tired of having to explain myself to people. We put selections up that we think have the best chances of winning and it’s really as simple as that. I don’t know how I can simplify it down any further for those who wish to complain.
The L15 thread is a bit of fun for punters who like to have a L15 bet. Again, don’t like? Don’t follow it.
Complaining about having 2 tipsters? Why? Look at Sky, paddypower, betfred and Betfair etc, they’ve countless tipsters on their pages. Offering different views for people on racing. Rizz has his followers and vice versa, you’ve a selection of horses to choose from and on the grand scheme of things, 4 is hardly a lot when there was about 50 races on today throughout UK and Ireland.
I Would love to have 50 glory holes to choose from
