Best Wimbledon Predictions Today
Here are our top betting picks for day three of Wimbledon, as the Round of 64 heats up.
Alcaraz vs Vukic – Alcaraz to Win 3-1 @ 3/1
Alcaraz is stepping into Wimbledon as the third seed, and he's been on fire this season. With a title in Indian Wells and a victory at the French Open, Alcaraz is one to watch out for. Even though his grass court time has been pretty short, with a second-round exit at Queen's Club.
The Spaniard is currently among the best players in the world, and the bookmakers are favouring him heavily. With a 26-6 win-loss record this season, he's gearing up to defend his Wimbledon title with everything he's got.
On the other hand, Vukic has had a pretty average season. He's been suffering first or second-round exits in most ATP tournaments while maintaining an 11-16 win-loss record. But he's logged some serious grass court time this season, and his run in Eastbourne shows he’s got potential.
Vukic kicked off his Wimbledon campaign with a gritty five-set victory over Sebastian Ofner in the first round. However, going up against the young Spaniard, his prospects don’t look too bright. While Alcaraz is unlikely to bow out early, Vukic might just sneak a set thanks to his newfound grass-court momentum.
Gauff vs Todoni – Gauff Handicap -6.5 @ 5/6
Coco Gauff is gearing up to face Anca Todoni in her second-round match at Wimbledon. Gauff has had a blast of a season, racking up multiple semi-final appearances in WTA tournaments and winning a title in Auckland.
Her clay season was fantastic, and she made a smooth transition to grass, reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 500 in Berlin before falling to Jessica Pegula. Gauff hasn't had a standout record at Wimbledon, she has never made it past the Round of 16.
This year, Gauff kicked off her Wimbledon campaign with a win against Caroline Dolhide in the first round.
Todoni, a 19-year-old Romanian, has turned heads with her impressive run in the Wimbledon qualifiers. She then took down Olga Danilovic 7-5, 6-1 in the first round. For a player making her Grand Slam debut, Todoni's performance was remarkable, earning her a well-deserved spot in the second round.
Todoni has a solid 23-13 win-loss record this season and has adapted well to grass, effortlessly switching between aggressive groundstrokes and strategic slices. However, her chances against the US Open champion look slim. We believe Gauff will come out on top in this encounter, even with a handicap.
Monfils vs Wawrinka – Monfils to Win 3-1 @ 13/5
Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils will face off on a grass court for the first time. While neither would call it their favourite surface, Monfils does have a better overall record on grass than Wawrinka, which is crucial to consider when predicting the outcome of this match.
Monfils has had a decent season, highlighted by his recent grass-court semi-final run in Mallorca. He’s sporting a 16-14 win-loss record this year but hasn’t won a title yet. He kicked off his Wimbledon campaign with a four-set victory over Adrian Mannarino.
On the other hand, 39-year-old Wawrinka hasn't been very active this season. He skipped all grass tournaments and last appeared at the French Open, where Pavel Kotov knocked him out in the Round of 64.
With a disappointing 3-8 win-loss record this season and no titles, the former world No. 3 is struggling to find his footing. He did manage a win against Charles Broom in the first round of Wimbledon, earning his spot in the Round of 64.
Tied 3-3 in their head-to-head, both players are fighting to stay relevant. However, Monfils is the bookmakers' favourite, mainly due to his stronger grass-court performance. While Wawrinka might make Monfils drop a set, it's highly unlikely he’ll come out on top in this match.
