Turkey face Georgia in Group F at Euro 2024 on Tuesday evening, and Jamie Kennedy is backing the Crescent Stars to come out on top.
Turkey vs Georgia (Tuesday, 17:00)
After being dumped out early at Euro 2020 following three straight defeats during the group stage, Turkey will be looking to make amends in Germany.
Meanwhile, Georgia will be appearing at the European Championships for the first time in their history this summer after getting the better of Greece in the play-off round.
The tournament debutants are 4/1 (Betfred) outsiders going into their opening match, while Turkey are odds-on 8/11 (Betfred) favourites.
Turkey’s above odds are a little too short to get involved with here, so instead, go to Betfred’s Bet Builder and add in under 4.5 goals to enhance the odds to 10/11.
Georgia are no pushovers, as they showed when taking points off both Scotland and Norway during the group phase of qualification before going on to deny Greece a place at this summer’s finals.
Therefore, Turkey may have to be a bit patient when trying to find away through the close-knit Crusaders.
On top of that, the Crescent Stars look to be lacking a recognised striker, with none of their current squad managing to score more than two goals during qualifying.
That coincided with four of Turkey’s five wins during qualifying delivering less than five match goals, as was the case in three of Georgia's four qualification defeats.
So with all things considered, combine both markets and take Turkey to come out on top with a low-key success at 10/11 with Betfred.
