Racing Tips – Back Kiss Me My Love at Carlisle

Yesterday's selection Racingbreaks Ryder has fallen into the ‘avoid going forward' catergory, as he continues to fail in taking advantage of an attractive mark. I'm confident that the horse will win a race soon enough, but chasing that win is something that is not on my agenda.

He will probably be dropped further after that run and you could see him pitched in somewhere at Royal Ascot of an even lower handicap mark but I'm yet to see any entries online for him.

Monday is a new week and another week closer to Royal Ascot. Monday racing as expected is pretty poor but I've gone for two selections at the Carlisle meeting that I like the look of.

Kiss Me My Love 5/2 – Carlisle 2:20

Unless any of the new-comers are of any quality then I have this race between the top two in the market. I decided to go with the Charlie Johnson-trained Kiss Me My Love who has been knocking at the door of late.

Kiss Me My Love has yet to secure a victory in her first two starts, finishing in second place on both occasions. In her debut run, she was narrowly beaten by Up The Clarets by a length and a half. In her second race, she could not land a blow on Larchill Lass, who finished three and a quarter lengths ahead. There was no shame in defeat to Larchhill Lass, that one had two previous runs under the belt and similar to Kiss Me My Love, finished second in each of those outings and was also knocking at the door at getting off the mark.

Despite not winning in each of her two starts to date, Kiss Me My Love showed clear signs of ability over the other horses in both races, breaking clear with the eventual winner on both occasions. It is worth noting my selection displayed signs of inexperience during these races which I'm hoping she will come on for at the third attempt of asking.

Going by breeding, Kiss Me My Love has the potential to excel over longer distances and the decision to test her abilities in a six-furlong race seems like a wise choice made by her connections.

Expensive Rose 10/11 – Carisle 3:50

I've gone for another Charlie Johnson-trained runner for my second selection. She is a bit on the short side of things in terms of price but on paper looks a worthy favourite to get the job done.

My selection has only had one run but displayed plenty of promise when finishing second at Pontefract last month. She is an attractive sort on breeding being a daughter of Australia and should have the measure of this field with a recent run under the belt and further progression expected.

Regal Gem was the horse who beat my selection on debut by one and a half lengths. Regal Gem recently ran in a decent class two event at Beverley which saw him finish fourth in a five-runner affair. He ran well until about halfway before losing his position within the final furlong. He was only beaten by a few lengths by a few exciting sorts in the shape of Moving Force and Shareholder, so the form of Expensive Rose's debut looks pretty strong if going of that run.
