The DPWT visits Sweden this week for the Scandinavian Mixed at Ullna Golf & Country Club, Stockholm.
This event just as the name suggests has a mixed field with 78 male and 78 female competitors who will all be competing for a share of the €2M prize purse with the winner collecting the Scandinavian Mixed title & a winner cheque for €319,716.
Before I continue I need to highlight just how well my new Telegram Channel is doing since it was launched a few weeks back.
After tipping Viktor Hovland at 20/1 to win the Memorial Tournament at the weekend, that’s now 4 outright winners in 6 weekends.
Tony Finau 8/1, Adrian Meronk 20/1 & Jason Day 16/1 are the other three not forgetting the SuperBanker Matchbet Nap that has landed for members the past few weekends.
This channel will pay for itself & much much more so why not give it a try on me & enjoy your first 30 days free just so you can see for yourself that all we are doing is constantly bashing the bookie. Click the link below & join today so you never miss out. I have been in mega profit since this all started a few years back & that trend will only get better with the extra hours of research & homework, already I’ve noticed this if paying off for my members who are reaping the rewards.
Come & join us if you want to empty those bookies satchels while having some fun watching golf.
Ullna Golf & Country Club will be playing 6,819 yards for the men & 6,067 yards for the women. It’s a Par 72 Parkland layout that should produce a birdie fest around this easier set up.
Linn Grant returns to rewrite the history books having done so last year when becoming the first female to win a DPWT event. Grant won this in a canter in 2022 shooting clear of the pack to win with nine shots to spare. Her winning scorecard read 264,-24.
The weather is forecast to be mainly sunny & warm throughout with some cloudy intervals. Breezes will peak at around 14mph.
This event will be screened on Sky Sports Golf with live coverage starting at midday on Thursday.
For my first and main selection in Stockholm, I’m going to single out Joost Luiten 30/1 EW William Hill 1-7 places. This venue will definitely suit the 37yrs old Dutchman & it could be his best opportunity yet to get his first W in almost 5 years.
Joost Luiten 30/1 EW William Hill 1-7 places
The multiple DPWT winner has been on my radar recently with some fine recent performances. A treble of 3rd place finishes this year include; 3rd Hero Indian Open, T3rd Korea Championship & T3rd Thailand Classic.
Joost finished just outside the Top 20 at his previous two starts,21st at the KLM Open & 22nd last weekend at the European Open so it’s clear for all to see he arrives in Stockholm with form in the bag.
This shorter venue could be just what Joost Luiten needs and he could boost his way to victory with a much-welcomed W this coming Sunday & a well-deserved one at that.
Linn Grant EW 28/1 William Hill
For my next best selection I’m going to point you all in the direction of the defending champion who blasted her way into the history books here at Ullna Golf & Country Club last year.
It could be more of the same this time around if the Swede takes full advantage of being on home soil & the much shorter Tee boxes. Linn Grant absolutely blitzed her way to victory winning with an incredible nine shots to spare in this mixed format and never really looked in any danger to be fair. Now what made that fairytale victory even more impressive was the fact that she was only 22 yrs old & still in her rookie year.
Now I’m not going to pretend I’m an expert on the LPGA Tour so I’m just doing some adding up here & I think it would be unwise to disregard Linn Grant doubling up this year. It could all be in a canter once again as Linn Grant successfully defends her crown to become the Queen of golf in Scandinavia.
Robert MacIntyre 22/1 EW Betfred 1-7 places
For my final outright tip this week I’m going to advise Robert MacIntyre 22/1 EW Betfred 1-7 places. The last time I tipped the young 26yrs old Scots kid he withdrew from the Italian Open in Rome so for that I apologise. It came from absolutely nowhere especially as he was going around well at the time.
You all know my thoughts on this, us punters should get out money back when this happens. Bookies profiting from injuries & others' misfortune is a poor show in my book .
I'm not quite sure where Bob’s game is at the moment if I’m being honest, it’s a mixed bag but missing the cut at Oak Hill a fortnight ago can be disregarded, at least Bob gets a chance to play at majors.
He bounced back with a 14th-place finish in Hamburg at the European Open, that’s now five Top 20 finishes this year alone for the talented Scotsman. Three of those efforts were inside the Top 10 so Bob can still produce the goods, it’s getting that next W that seems to be the problem. I’m going to give Robert MacIntyre another chance this week as I expect him to at worst be challenging but hopefully surging on to scoop this long-awaited hat-trick of DPWT crowns If Linn’s not queen then Robert could be king.
