The PGA Tour continues this week with another star-studded field with the CJ Cup at Congaree Golf Club, Ridgeland, South Carolina.
The smaller than usual 78 field with no cut this weekend will all be competing for a share of the $10.5M prize purse with the winner collecting the CJ Cup crown and a winner’s cheque for $1.75M.
Rory McIlroy returns to defend his title and should be firing on all cylinders to do just that this time around.
Congaree will be playing 7,665 yards long this week, it’s a par 71 parkland layout where the key to success will be good Greens in Regulation figures then a hot putter, it’s a big hitters paradise, just ask Rory.
This event will be screened on Sky Sports Golf & Sky Sports Main Event with live coverage starting at 8 pm on Thursday night.
The weather is forecast to be sunny and pleasant, with breezes peaking at around 8mph.
So let’s move on with some betting tips for this week's CJ Cup.
Jon Rahm 9/1 EW Bet365
For my first and main selection in South Carolina, I’m going to look no further than the player who did the business for us the last time he was out, Jon Rahm 9/1 EW Bet365. The ever-talented 27-year-old from Barrika in Spain won the Open de Espana less than a fortnight ago and finished runner-up at the BMW PGA Championship at his event prior to scooping the Open de Espana in his homeland.
Jon Rahm has finished no worse than 16th at the last five times of asking with four of them being inside the Top 10. On the stats front Jon Rahm also has a host of Top 10 figures to boast, this year on the PGA Tour the Spaniard ranks 7th SG Total, 6th Longest Drives,5th Driving Distance,4th Lowest Round, 3rd Going for the Green, 1st Consecutive Cuts Made, and 1st also for SG Off The Tee.
I just don’t see any point telling you all about this kids credentials, you all know how good he is and I just can’t see past Jon Rahm doubling up for both us and him at the last two times of asking, so look no further than Jon Rahm being crowned the 2022 CJ Cup Champ on Sunday night in South Carolina.

Matthew Fitzpatrick 22/1 EW 1-7 places Boylesports
For my next betting tip at Congaree, I’m going to point you all in the direction of Matthew Fitzpatrick 22/1 EW 1-7 places Boylesports. I’m not going to allow Fitzy’s missed cut last time out at the Andalucia Masters to put me off here and the week off to recharge the batteries and focus may be just what the 28yrs old major champ from Sheffield required. I’ve got a feeling he’s going to arrive in South Carolina all guns blazing and this year's US Open Champion could be back in the winner’s enclosure as soon as this weekend.
With ten, Top 10 finishes this year including that breakthrough victory on the PGA circuit when winning the US Open, his maiden PGA and major title, I'm just not so sure that Fitzy will go winless until the end of the year. It’s already been a fantastic year for the steel man and it could be about to get even better as Matthew Fitzpatrick cracks America once again with another PGA Tour victory, this time collecting the CJ Cup.

Sam Burns 28/1EW Unibet 1-6 places
For my next suggestion, I’m going to advise Sam Burns 28/1EW Unibet 1-6 places. It’s probably fair to say that the hot Sam Burns has gone a tad cold over the past few months but hey he’s still been consistent and let’s not forget the two victories this year.
Winner when defending his title a few months back at the Valspar Championship and the winner at the Charles Schwab Challenge, that’s now four PGA titles adding to the two from last year for this talented 26-year-old from Louisiana. Although he’s not been on fire off late, as I’ve already mentioned, he’s been consistent. Burns has finished inside the Top 30 at his last four events with two inside the Top 20.
Now the stat that sticks out a mile here is probably the most important. I mentioned earlier about Greens in Regulation figures and the hot Burnd ranks 1st on the PGA Tour Going for the Green at 90%.
That's scary stuff at just the right time of year and it would be no surprise to see Sam Burns tricking and treating himself to a hattrick of 2022 victories.

For my final CJ Cup bet I’m going to mix it up this week. It’s not a match bet but it’s another SuperBanker Nap. Rory McIlroy Top 10 finish 10/11 Paddy Power.
