After yesterday’s winner in North London, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in the English Premier League and I like the look of goals in the live match in the East Midlands.
Leicester City vs Manchester United
🏴 Premier League
⏰ Thursday 1st August, 20:00
Manchester United will look to make it three wins on the bounce this evening, as they travel to the East Midlands to take on a struggling Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Despite playing over an hour against 10-men, Leicester lost once again last time out, as they were defeated 2-1 by Chelsea in a match that brought up Saturday’s Bet of the Day. Brendan Rodgers has now saw his side collect just a solitary point from their opening four Premier League, leaving them bottom of the table. The Foxes have now failed to keep a clean sheet in 15 of their last 17 Premier League matches, as well conceding on multiple occasions in each of their four league outings this season. Leicester have found the back of the net in 14 of their last 15 Premier League fixtures at the King Power, scoring two or more in nine of them.
Manchester United followed up their 2-1 win over Liverpool by grinding out a 0-1 victory at St. Mary’s against Southampton on Saturday. That victory last time out put an end to their seven-match losing streak on their travels in the Premier League, a run which included a 4-0 thrashing at Brentford in their opening away fixture this season. United have conceded in 17 of their last 21 Premier League matches on the road, including in 12 of their last 13. Since the start of last season, The Red Devils have found the back of the net in 32 of their last 42 league outings, including 16/21 when playing away from home.
Bet of the Day
Manchester United come into this fixture rejuvenated and will be confident of gaining another three points against a struggling Leicester at the King Power Stadium this evening. This fixture has produced plenty of goals in recent years, with each of the last five meetings seeing a total of 19 goals and I’m expecting at least three more this evening.
Brendan Rodgers’ hosts have found the back of the net in 14 of their last 15 Premier League encounters at home and I reckon they’ll breach a Manchester United defence that only kept their first clean in 13 matches on their travels at the weekend. However, The Foxes rarely keep clean sheets themselves and given they’ve conceded on multiple occasions in all four matches this season, there’s every chance they’ll concede at least twice against The Red Devils.
