I RESISTED the temptation to have a bet on Sunday and that was probably just as well.
The team that stood out for me were Anderlecht but they marked Vincent Kompany's dugout debut with a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Oostende.
Interestingly all three Belgian games featured both scoring and it's a decent league for goals and one worth watching.
Wasn't too much going on Sunday but Scott's member bet was a loser while macca was spot on with Napoli goals but was one short on his Nap as Liverpool were hammered 3-0 at Murrayfield.
Derby fan nathan tipped his side to lose to Rangers at 9-10 and that was another good call. Well done to all the winners.
We're nearly there with the friendlies and after the midweek European games we're straight into league action barring the Premier League and I for one am looking forward to getting back to normal.
On Monday there's not much to look at barring some friendlies and league games dotted about here and there.
It will be a no-bet day for me as I take a look an early looks at Tuesday's games that include Nomme Kalju v Celtic which of course is all over and a cracker between Basel and PSV with the Dutch leading 3-2 and both to score looking likely again.
In fact I've looked forward all the way to the weekend and can't resist a couple of early bets on the Scottish Premiership. Celtic, Rangers and Hibs all look to have banker material openers against St Johnstone, Kilmarnock and St Mirren – three sides who look in disarray after terrible starts to the campaign.
Celtic to beat St Johnstone and home and Gers to win at Killie pays 11-10 with Marathonbet and others and could be the best double you'll get all season. Add Hibs at home to St Mirren to make it 23-20 and I'm advising both.

Mr F you might have seen my reply to Tungstens post yesterday with my grievance with mansionbet. Placed a £50 double last Sunday on Lazio & Atalanta both -2 you n friendlies against Triestina & Renate respectively. Lazio won 5-2(10/11) & Atalanta 6-0(20/33). Mansionbet declared the Atalanta game cancelled but soccerway and other sites backup my claim that Atalanta win 6-0 fair n square.
Any advice 🤷🏻♀️
Free £20 bet, thanks to mansionbet 🙌
It’s better than nothing.
It’s difficukt dealing with companies such as Mansionbet. Usually firms like those don’t respond to my queries whereas bet365, Ladbrokes and William Hill will answer me within hours if not minutes.
You need to try to find out why the game was voided and threaten them with IBAS.
The one thing that hurts them most is simply leaving them.
They have said it was because the game was played over 2x 35min halves. Have given me a£20 free bet unkind which is appreciated. That free bet has went on a USL Championship BTTS double..
Loudoun United FC vs Louisville City FC
Portland Timbers II vs Los Angeles Galaxy II
29/20 double
Mr F
Anderlecht lost today but i think in the long run it will be a team to rely on. lots of new faces in the team . the Chemistry has not yet clicked . when it does i think they will be a money making machine for punters
Yeah some of the signings look decent but no denying that was a bad start.
Having a look at USL championship game starts at 02:00am Portland timbers 11 vs La galaxy 2. Looked at h2h some amount of goals totalling 46 in last 7 to be exact. Average over 6.5 per game . Bookies have it priced 10/21 virgin bet over 2.5 over3.5 6/5 over 4 27/10 looked at the current table and both teams scoring and conceding for fun. Will have wager on over 3.5 goals as main bet and over 4.5goals nb.
Think the bookies have caught on now
over 2.5 4/11 over 3.5 19/20 over 4.5 21/10 interesting to see how this pans out
Hopefully not a 0-0
Columbian premier league 23-30 ko.
Independiente Santa fe v alliance petrolera.
Allianza petrolera to score 5-6 (hills) NAP.
Following a deserved red card for San Jose (didn’t see it but I’m sure it was 😁) petrolera score on the hour.
⚽😁winner😁⚽
Nice one Elvis!
Great work Elvis👍
Nap and Nb both landed last night in Brasil with decent prices of 43/40 and 7/4 😀
The 24/1 longshot was let down by 2 of the 7 legs with 18 of the 21 goals needed.
Paraguay gets my vote today – quick post and, again, will post in full later:
SOL DE AMÉRICA VS. LIBERTAD (10.00pm)
Over 2.5 match goals
(1/1, bet365) NAP
Over 3.5 match goals
(5/2, bet365) NB
Best of luck 👍
Good shout Hull . I was on the 1/1 money shout .
Nice one Hull👏
Cheers Cocker/Hunter 👍
Tipped Danny Johnson for a debut goal for Dundee yesterday – hope punters made the most of the 6/1 (Bet 365) first goalscorer or Mcbookie’s 3/1 tartan top up for him to score anytime 🤑
Nice one – looks like he’ll be a good signing.
If you haven’t done so already pick up a copy of today’s Racing Post which includes a free 72-page guide to the big kick-off – and I’ll be going through mine tonight before picking my English anteposts. It’s invaluable.
Picked up a copy of the racing post today – the football betting guide is a must read for punters ahead of the new season.
As I said earlier it’s a must-have. Anyone who didn’t get one today should be able to buy it separately in the next few days.
Not been much contribution from me of late, been struck down if flu – in the summer as well! 🤒
Anyway, just mustered enough energy to check today’s card and there’s not much doing apart from a small stakes Four-fold for some interest….

Just back from Dr’s and it turns out it’s tonsillitis. Anti b’s and plenty rest prescribed. Always funny how they mention rest when your self employed and have kids on their Summer hols! Hopefully the Anti B’s will be enough though! 😉
Going for goals in Paraguay…

Afternoon Gents,Ante Post picks for the season ahead
Premier League winners Liverpool at 13/5
Man City are favourites for the title and rightly so,however with Kompany their captain and leader now gone and having not replaced him i feel they will be ten times more vulnerable at the back which could cost them dearly in this seasons race, bookie’s obviously haven’t taken this into account and even if they sign Harry Maguire it still won’t be enough to fill that void.
Wolves to finish in the bottom half at 7/4
This bet i haven’t placed yet but will do so if they make the Europa League. If they do make Europe then there is no way they will be as good as they last season in the Premier League,IMO they will find it difficult to transition from European to domestic football at their first attempt,it could cost them dearly.
Leicester City Top four finish at 16/1 (PUNT)
For me these will be the best of the rest and will come close to a top four spot, you could argue Chelsea,United,Arsenal might not make it leaving a spot for one of these other teams and i feel Leicester have a good chance.
Best of luck
I wouldn’t write off City just yet Macca. Yes Kompany is going to be big miss in the locker room but I doubt they will miss him that much on the turf. He barely featured last season. Was in and out of the team until the last few weeks. City romped on without for much of last season but only time will tell now still wouldn’t write them off just yet.
Behave yaself again gigi, kompany played a major role last season, playing in all of their last 16 games, without him they wouldn’t of won the league.
No if liverpool didn’t record so many draws City wouldn’t have won the league. If it was Aguero i might write them off not Kompany. They did get along without Kevin and David and even you Macca back then was saying they gonna struggle without those 2. Watch out for them again. Don’t make yourself feel better by saying the loss of Kompany will give liverpool the title.
In the City v Liverpool game at the emptihad Kompany made two vital tackles to save City from losing that game, had we won it we would have won the league, don’t underestimate Kompany mate because in every team you need a leader and just who is that going to be?????
I get your emotional point macca because you are a liverpool fan but like I said I wouldn’t write city off yet because of Kompany. He had a big influence in the locker room obviously but city knew this day was coming considering he has been spending much of his last 3 seasons out injured. Only time will tell so goodluck with your bets on liverpool.
Your not getting the point gigi,Kompany played most of last season.
Liverpool squad size is still the same but have charity shield, euro super cup, world club championship (3 games I think) on top of an already crammed schedule.
Throw in the fact that their front 3 will be leggy as this summer’s excursions catch up at some point, will be hard for them to win the league unless they prioritize it over the cups all season.
I know what your saying Elvis, the League has to be the priority,we have won enough European cups for the time being,as for the players being leggy i doubt that as they have done no pre-season and all had holidays, swings and roundabouts, for me though City will concede more without Kompany,i will also point out Aguero and Mahrez etc were also at the Copa America so it’s not just the Liverpool players.
Fair points macca.
I reckon Top 2 won’t get near 98 points, on a given day spurs, chelsea, and even man Utd (once solskjaer gets sacked ) and (arsenal if they buy defenders instead of spending 72 million on a player unproven at top level), have to improve surely, add wolves Everton Leicester and even west ham who all look more equipped to take points from the top table than last season and it means city and Liverpool need to be on top form more often than last season and will need the whole squad to cope.
If Maguire stays Leicester could seriously threaten the top 6 or even 4 as they are not in Europe.
Great opportunity for Brendan Rogers to prove his successes at Liverpool (one slip from the title), and Celtic best part of 3 trebles) weren’t based on the talent he had at his disposal alone.
Still think they need cover for vardy though as okazaki gone.

see macca still have the blinkers on he just cant see past liverpool ,macca liverpool haven’t added to there squad .city have and they have done pretty well when kompany wasn’t playing .you need to bring in new players each year to give the manager new idea’s .liverpool at the moment are stale,i don’t think they have won any of there pre-season games have they, city to bash pool in the charity sheild.City for the leauge again pool wont be close this year
Now your talking silly @the plug, how many points did Liverpool get last season,Liverpool are miles ahead of Spurs United and Chelsea, they don’t need to strengthen,as for pre season they haven’t had their players back yet so what do you expect.Same again Liverpool/City competing the rest are nowhere.
Liverpool won the Champions League, finished 1 point behind City and now they have gone stale lol,the big question is who have Man Utd signed to mount a challenge for the premier League????,City haven’t spent much and Chelsea well they look doomed this season, where’s the challenge @ the plug.
Same bet for me as last season – City/Liverpool reverse forecast.
