ECHO (5.25) won with such authority over 1m 4f at Newcastle last month that it worth taking the chance that his stamina will hold out over a longer trip at Redcar on Easter Monday. Jack Garritty gave Jedd O'Keefe's gelding a very positive ride that day, kicking clear from the three-furlong pole, and similar tactics will have most of his rivals toiling.
William Haggas sends COUNTRY (1.55) up north and the son of Dubawi is expected to step up on his initial outing at Doncaster when a slightly disappointing sixth to Fox Champion. Hot favourite Fragrant Dawn is clearly the one to beat.
At Wolverhampton, DREAM MAGIC (5.05) can follow up his easy Lingfield success under a 7lb penalty. The five-year-old responded generously to the fitting of blinkers and the aids are retained this afternoon. Movie Star ran second to Anif here last month and third horse Bayston Hill beat Gas Monkey at Chelmsford City next time. Stall 12 could be a problem, though.
Roger Varian has hit form with a vengeance and GLEEFUL (3.20) doesn't appear badly treated off 75 on her handicap debut, while I've had a decent each-way bet on HEART OF SOUL (5.35) on the back of a second to Andrew Balding's three-year-old Ranch Hand at Southwell.
Heart of Soul doesn't have to concede weight-for-age against these older horses. Charlie Appleby's Setting Sail hasn't been seen for 572 days but the Godolphin operation wouldn't have hung on to him unless they thought he could cut the mustard in decent handicaps later in the season. The betting market should be informative.
330f – This looks a very trappy race, so I would advise a cautious stake, it is probably too risky even, especially when we have 8 meetings to choose from, however I am going to chance HAMMERSLY LAKE who is currently around 2/1. He tries 3m for only the 2nd time, LTO he carried at least a stone more than all his rivals but managed to stay close enough for most of the race. The two who pulled 4 lengths clear have won off marks similar to the rivals he faces today, but we have the addition of a 7lb claimer on board for the first time which helps with an even bigger weight we have to shoulder. The horse is consistent, he doesn’t fall and the fact we are 15lbs less than our last win, which was in September.
without looking too in depth i for what it is worth, I have placed ‘interest’ bets on SHEILAS FANCY (140H 6/1) OUR ROCKSTAR (225P 5/2) and GOLDEN CANNON ew (335p 7/1), that is all for now, as i find it is best to put money down much, much closer to the off.
@database Interesting read mate. I’ve been looking more towards the meeting at fairy house and of course the Irish grand national. I’ve noticed today Tiger Roll who I last seen at 8/1 is no where to be seen in the markets. Cant even find an article online to explain why hes been removed. Do you know why?
In regards to the races theres only 3 that I’m putting money down on. The 16.20 although he hasn’t a recent race behind him it’s hard to part with Snow Falcon at 11/8. If hes up to the game hes definitely the one to beat. I also like Story Teller who has Davy Russell on board from what I can remember but he can a frustrating horse to follow.
In the opener I fancy an EW punt on Quantanmental currently sitting at 12/1 on the betting.
For the national Total Recall and pairofbrowneyes
Good luck!!
Not that I have read anything but the horse has nothing to prove. Winning the IGN would be like Barcelona winning the Championship. It’d be great but he has achieved so much more than this already the risks dont seem worth the reward. With 3 big wins already this season, connections are right to now focus on what could be a historic final season for him next year.
@database I guess that makes sense. I was rubbing my hands when I seen him at 8/1 though! Bit disappointed hes not running now lol.
Yeah a shame, sounded like free money. If you want big odds why not go through the card find smaller races and pick 1 from all or 4/5 meetings and do a few different combos, you will obvious need some luck but you’ll be getting massive 100/1 odds or bigger.
Yday I had a 61/1 4fold and the prices where only 11/8 2/1 9/4 15/8.. if you are picking just 1 race per meeting or less it aint that hard to do and you dont lose a lot betting a few quid a time. a very sensible way to do things.

Bit annoyed that the Itv Cameras haven’t got Anything on today The All finals weather day was entertaining but considering its Irish national day and that all the other nationals are shown live on itv (English Welsh and Scottish) I’m surprised that they haven’t shown anything to day
saluti 3.40 …..gun digger 5.00 ew akwrisht 5.00 ew well done all winners
A horse I put up last night for interest, SHEILAS FANCY at 6/1 is now 11/4 with no NRs, I don’t follow money but this seems quite significant, bol.
last nights opening fav wins the first at Hunty, drifting from 11/4 out to 9/1, crazy.
Mt Leinster runs in the 610 at FH, he was tipped by hibbee when it got pished on, he hasnt done much since either HOWEVER, i noticed with class tipsters, such as johnb and alan, they spot nice horses but sometimes the timing is off, and you see ones they mention go on to do well, so i will have a small stab at it given the fav has been taken out and i was on him when malone road trounced him.
Data.
Not for the first time a Mullins 2nd string beats the 1st.
Think mt Leinster has cost punters enough for one season
Wouldn’t limit that to just Mullins either. Those Irish boys are something else. I have practically stopped looking at regular Irish meets, so many turn ups it doesn’t seem a profitable avenue to venture down, for me at least.
