THE only online bookie that lists SPFL and Scottish Cup first-scorer prices for every game are McBookie.
McBookie‘s Damian Walker is back with his first-scorer tips and he’s also challenging punters to pick their own. Every week one person with a correct prediction will be chosen at random to win a £10 bet.
There were several correct entries last week and after a lucky draw the winner is Danny Higgins of Inverness.
You can comment with your pick here and give any reasoning but to enter the contest you have to email [email protected] Bonus excluders don’t qualify for the prize.

Here is Damian with this weekend’s selections.
He says: Two losers and a non-runner from last weekend’s tips, although I did suggest Elgin at odds against were great value to win at Montrose and they ran out 5-0 victors.
That wasn’t the only 5-0 away win in the SPFL last weekend as somehow Morton thumped top-of-the-table Queen of the South by the same scoreline.
The result had me scratching my head. And a quick check of the stats shows both sides had eight shots but whereas Morton had five on target the Doonhamers had none. Still five goals from five efforts on target is some going.
A closer look at Queen of the South’s recent form shows them scoring just two goals from their last five matches, both after extra time against Irish side Linfield in the IRN-BRU Cup.
Two goals in 480 minutes of football so maybe last weekend’s was not so surprising. On Saturday they travel to a resurgent Ayr side who beat Dumbarton 3-0 away last weekend and became the first Championship side to defeat Hibs when winning 2-1 last month.
The Honest Men have been chalked up at 2-1 to beat Queen of the South who are 13-10. I’d have this 6-4 each of two and think an Ayr first scorer could be some value.
Alan Forrest has seven goals in 13 games this season and scored a hat-trick in last weekend’s win. He is also on the penalties and is 8-1 with McBookie to score the opening goal.
Staying in the Championship and we have to be against Hibs again this weekend for the third week running. Neil Lennon’s side have gone five games without a win and have scored just three goals during those matches.
They are 4-5 to win at Dunfermline this weekend and I’d like to see a return to form before taking those odds. The Pars have been hit and miss this season but at odds of 7-2 at home they are worth chancing for a first goal.
And they have a proven goalscorer in Farid El Alagui who netted last weekend – his fourth goal in four games. McBookie make him 17-2 to score first which looks fair.
Finally, Stranraer – one of my ante-post fancies along with Alloa – are finding their feet finally in League One.
And last weekend they won 5-0 away at Stenhousemuir (there’s a theme developing here).
Anyway Stranraer entertain East Fife this weekend and Craig Malcolm with six goals from nine League One matches looks good value at 6-1 with McBookie to score the first goal.
