A COUPLE of weeks ago we had “Woodwork Gate” where BetVictor refused to pay out on several punters' winning lines after they claimed the ball left the field of play after Falcao struck the post in the Nou Camp.

It was a ridiculous rule, which to be fair to BetVictor they quickly saw sense on and paid out, albeit after a barrage of negativity on social media. But it led to me receiving a flood of emails from disgruntled punters who had a gripe with several bookies over multiple issues such accounts being closed, offers not being fulfilled and general all-round bad customer service.

So just who is the best bookie to bet with? Well it's time to find out and it's over to you to decide.

The World Cup of Bookies starts tonight!

Over on Twitter I'll be hosting a series of polls where you can vote for your favourite bookie, until we determine which firm is the creme de la creme of the betting world.

You should cast your vote based on the following criteria;

  • Website and App usability
  • Customer Service
  • Range of Markets
  • Competitive Odds
  • Offers

You can weight those criteria in any order you like, just vote for who is the best bookie in your opinion in each poll.

The Draw

The draw has been made and the first round will be played out over the next 8 days. The top two from each poll will make it to the semi finals, where there will be four polls. The top of the semi-finals will then qualify to the final poll.

Here are the first round Groups

  • A: BetVictor, Stan James, 10Bet, BetStars
  • B: Betfair Sportsbook, Boylesports, Titanbet, 138Bet
  • C: Coral, Marathonbet, McBookie, 188Bet
  • D: Ladbrokes, 888Sport, Totesport, Genting
  • E: Bet365, Sportingbet, Winner, 32Red
  • F: Paddy Power, Unibet, BetBright, Vernons
  • G: Skybet, Betfred, Netbet, Racebets
  • H: William Hill, Betway, bwin, LeoVegas

Sky bet as they have the worst customer service, withdrawn all offers including £5 weekly free bets, best odds guarantees, capped every bet I place, just because they can’t handle me winning a couple of thousand pounds.

It’s unfortunate but many bookies will do that these days.
Skybet do have requestabets going for them which are extremely popular.

Thanks for the reply @MrFixit I could understand if they give any reason why even if its as simple as you’ve won too much money, it really annoys me!

Can’t count the times I’ve gone to the Ladbrokes and it’s closed with no explanation. It’s only the next day you find out that it was staff shortage. On the plus side, the staff, when on, are second to none, I have to say.

Easy one for group A in Betvictor. Only just set up a 10bet account last week. Seems OK and decent opening bonus. Although not much chance of seeing it, 300 quid of rollover bets required. Surely that’s ridiculous?
