Women's Euros winner

The Women's European Championships begin on Wednesday, 2 July, and there is plenty of excitement in the air ahead of what should be a brilliant tournament.

Looking to defend their crowns are England, who won the most recent edition of the tournament in 2022. That win at Wembley Stadium in July 2022 supercharged the women's game in the United Kingdom, and many other nations will be hoping for similar results this time around.

Ahead of the first round of fixtures, let's take a look at the Women's Euros winner odds and our outright tips for the tournament.

Spain

Unsurprisingly, Spain women are the favourites to win the Women's Euros this summer, and if they play to the levels they are capable of, then they should get the job done.

They are currently the reigning World Cup and UEFA Nations League champions, and have each of the last four winners of the Ballon d'Or Feminin in their squad.

One concern for Spain is the availability of the reigning Ballon d'Or winner, Aitana Bonmati. The Barcelona midfielder was only discharged from hospital on the eve of the tournament after suffering from viral meningitis, so there is every chance she will sit out at least the first couple of games.

In better news, Alexia Putellas is coming into the tournament at her very best and with a point to prove after missing the tournament in 2022 through injury.

England

England are the second favourites to win the tournament, and you would be foolish to turn them down at a price of 4/1. Their manager, Sarina Wiegman, has won the last two editions of the tournament, and the majority of the squad played a big part in their success in 2022.

England also have recent experience of defeating Spain, which isn't something a lot of teams in Europe can say. The Lionesses defeated them 1-0 in the most recent UEFA Nations League group stage and that could psychologically be important if the two teams meet in the knockout stages.

France

France are the third favourites to win the trophy at the end of the month, and their form in the build-up to the tournament is too difficult to ignore.

Les Bleus have won their last eight matches in all competitions, including all six of the UEFA Nations League group stage matches earlier in the year. They also recorded an impressive 3-2 win over Brazil in their final warm-up match before the tournament.

Interestingly, they have been paired with England in Group D and given how important qualifying as group winners has been in previous tournaments, the clash between the two sides on matchday one could be pivotal.

Germany

At a price of 5/1, Germany are the fourth favourites to win the Women's Euros this summer. There will be extra determination in the German camp this time around after losing the final in 2022, and also after narrowly missing out on the UEFA Nations League last summer.

There are plenty of talented players in the German squad, particularly in attacking areas. They have scored at least four goals in each of their last five matches, so teams will do well to keep them at bay over the next month.
