FOLLOWING the news Ally McCoist is set to turn out again for Rangers this season, bookies have priced up some specials on the Ibrox boss.
Coisty netted in Rangers Legends' 1-0 defeat of AC Milan Glorie on Friday night and reckons he can fill the gap left by Nikica Jelavic.
The 49-year-old is more used to playing the fool on Question of Sport than donning the blue jersey but with the crisis-hit club in administration and unable to sign players he could make a contribution before the end of the season even though he hasn't played competitively since 2001.
McBookie.com make McCoist 20-1 to score the winner on his comeback and 25-1 to bag the clincher in the final Old Firm derby of the season.
McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: “McCoist looked as if he loved every minute of his appearance against Milan. I don't think his comeback is a publicity prank although he's unlikely to start a game.
“Rangers haven't filled their bench in some games since going into administration so it's more likely he'll be a sub. But if his side are 1-0 down to Celtic with minutes to go he might just call for himself to go on. And no one can stop him even if he ends up looking like an old fool.”
With Steven Fletcher still out in the cold, an international comeback can't be ruled out either if he performs well and McBookie.com go 100-1 he's capped again by Scotland.
The Scots bookies are also taking bets on how many goals McCoist will score this season and go 6-1 none, 3-1 one, 4-1 two and 4-5 three or more.
McBookie.com are offering a £50 free bet to one person who predicts the right number of goals. Simply reply in the comments section with your answer and leave your name. If there is more than one correct entry the winner will be picked at random. Quote April 1 with your entry.
haha..watched Ally on Friday night against ACM…great servant to Rangers etc but only played (well hung aroond the box) for quarter of an hour and was second to Amoruso in the carrying excess timber stakes..
Cheers but you’re in the hat for the £50 bet anyway.
Craig, you’re in the hat too – still trying to catch someone out.
good fun Paul ;-)
nice1 fixit
6/1 for no goals is a steal, provided there is no clause that he needs to play for x amount of games or something like that. He may not play at all and it’s all hot air!
Anyone know the t’s and c’s to this?
Kenny, thanks to everyone who has commented on the Coisty specials. Everyone will be entered to win a £50 free bet with McBookie.com. The only condition to this bet is it must be placed on April Fool’s Day.
6/1 for no goals….i’ll have some of that thank you!
DOH!…like it:-
Is this a joke? Wtf lol
hahaha, what day is it again???lol
Lol! Gd one ha!
No offence, but this could 1 exactly if they get a penalty and McCoist steps up. They wouldnt risk 6/1 on no goals otherwise. There again he could injure himself, so 6/1 is a cracking bet and ill take that!
Oh shit. I’ve been had big time.
You fixed it for me to look like an idiot! I feel violated.
Kenny, you’ve been picked as random as the winner of the £50 bet from McBookie for responding to the April Fool. Paul Petrie from McBookie will be in touch by email. Can you reply with your full name and where you’re from. Thanks
that was nice, lol
April 1 or not I”ll take the 4/5 on 3 goals or over :)
Hahaha brilliant!
I’m contacting Mcbookie on 5 or more goals for the legend himself. Nice fool for April 1st
