MARIA SHARPOVA has looked the woman to beat the last two weeks and is a short-priced 1-2 favourite with Ladbrokes to capture the singles crown on Saturday.
The Russian has stormed to the Final and instead of the Williams sisters or even world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki she will look across the net to find No.8 seed Petra Kvitova.
Sharapova won Wimbledon as a 17-year-old in 2004 and has gone through agonies on the injury front to return to the Centre Court spotlight.
As long as she improves her service percentage from the semi-final I can’t see her slipping up but Kvitova, an impressive semi-final winner against Victoria Azarenka, could force her to play three sets.
Kvitova is 13-8 with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes while the match to go to three sets is 11-8 at Chander and boylesports.
Sharapova is 7-5 at sportingbet to win in straight sets and 2-1 pays 10-3 at Stan James.
Recommendation
Sharapova to win 2-1
(10-3, Stan James)
