The quarter-finals of Wimbledon begin today, and with them they bring plenty of exciting betting opportunities. We’ve combed through the latest odds for each match, and come up with three of the best bets to make on Wimbledon today.
Best Wimbledon Predictions Today
Here are our top betting suggestions for day nine of Wimbledon as quarter-final action gets under way on Tuesday.
Sinner to Win From Behind Against Medvedev @ 7/2
The last time Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev met in a Grand Slam, Medvedev raced out to a two sets to love lead in the Australian Open final. The Russian came within a handful of points of beating Sinner, running out of gas thanks to a raft of five set matches ahead of the final.
He did so by taking an unorthodox approach to the match, changing up his usual deep return position and baseline grinding style. Instead, he took the ball early and attacked Sinner, taking time away from the Italian.
We’re not saying Medvedev will do that this time, or that it will work. However, this simply demonstrates the fact that Sinner winning this match in straight sets is not a done deal. Medvedev is a tennis genius, and there’s every chance he comes out of the blocks with an unusual strategy on Tuesday.
Should he do so, we back Sinner’s ability to improvise, adapt and overcome, just like he did in Melbourne. However, Medvedev claiming the first set, or building a 2-1 set lead, is not at all unrealistic.
Sun to Defeat Vekic 2-1 @ 5/1
Kiwi qualifier Lulu Sun is having a dream run at this year’s Wimbledon, and has now won eight matches in a row on the London grass. She’s a big underdog against Croatia’s Donna Vekic, but she’s literally been behind in the betting odds every match for the past 10 days and prevailed.
With the kind of aggressive tennis (50+ winners) she played against Emma Raducanu last match, it would be no surprise to see her win this one as well. Given three of her four wins have been in three sets, we’re picking this one goes the distance too.
Alcaraz to Defeat Paul 3-1 @ 12/5
Finally, Carlos Alcaraz squares off against Tommy Paul in what is a fascinating head-to-head. The pair have met four times and shared the honours, with three of those clashes going the distance.
We expect Alcaraz to have too much for Paul, particularly in best of five sets. However, the American is in scintillating form, and we wouldn’t put it past him to win a set here.
