Best Wimbledon Predictions Today

Here are our top betting picks for day 12 of Wimbledon as Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti fight it out for a spot in the final.

Alcaraz vs Medvedev Over 37.5 Games @ 1/1

Set your alarms, get the popcorn ready… And the coffee. This one’s going to be good. Alcaraz and Medvedev square off in a semi-final that has epic written all over it.

Alcaraz comes in as the heavy favourite, courtesy of him being defending champion. The Spaniard also just won the French Open, and is No. 3 in the world. Medvedev, on the other hand, is No.5 in the world, and hasn’t won a title in over a year. He also trails the pair’s head-to-head 4-2, which is really 4-1, considering the first meeting was when Alcaraz was 17.

However, Medvedev has a penchant for the unexpected. He just saw off the seemingly unbeatable Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals, turning around a sharp head-to-head trend. Alcaraz, on the other hand, navigated the challenge of Tommy Paul in four sets.

While we expect Alcaraz to win this clash, it would be a big surprise if it didn’t go over 37.5 games. The two are simply too closely matched.

Medvedev to Win a Set Against Alcaraz @ 2/5

Following on from our reasoning above, we expect Medvedev to win at least a set off Alcaraz in their semi-final clash.

This is actually an unpopular opinion, considering he has lost in straight sets in each of Alcaraz’s four wins over the Russian. However, Medvedev is the kind of player that is constantly strategising and adapting how he plays to overcome tactical deficiencies.

He’ll come out against Alcaraz with a smart game plan–likely heavy on the aggression like he was against Sinner–and this should reap him rewards at some stage in the match.

Djokovic to Defeat Musetti 3-0 @ 10/11

In the other men’s semi-final of day 12 at Wimbledon, 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic takes on Musetti, who is playing in his first match at this level.

Musetti looked very nervous in his first set against Taylor Fritz. Playing in his maiden Grand Slam semi-final, against a player who has been here 49 times previously, and who has beaten him five times before, as recently as last month… We expect there will be plenty of nerves once again.

For Djokovic, he’ll be wary of not getting caught out against by Musetti. The Italian has twice taken leads on him at Grand Slams, holding a two sets to one lead in their recent third round clash at the French Open, and a two sets to love lead back in 2021.

He’ll come out locked in, and should race through this one with ease.
