Bristol City v Bolton (7.45pm)

I PREVIEWED Bolton's home game to WBA last week and predicted the Trotters to have at least 2 goals against them and it's with tears (of laughter) in my eyes that I take on the same line of thinking again.

No point regurgitating Bolton's form and stats but suffice to say it sees they are nailed to the foot of the table with just Ipswich saving their blushes and the gloom surrounding the Macron Stadium is deepened when you look at Bristol City's own recent form.

Robins on song

Lee Johnson's men are now just 1 point from the play-off places after a storming run of 11 games undefeated in all competitions – a run which is even more impressive if you consider that the last 5 have all been victories!

It may be the FA Cup but I reckon Wanderers will be heading back from the West Country with sweet FA aside from a fourth-round exit beside their names – Ashton Gate holds bad memories for any Boltonians travelling down on their collective rickshaws with their last 3 visits seeing defeats of 2-1, 2-0 and 6-0.

Goals look good and may come late

One interesting bit of info I gleaned when looking through the data may just be trivial but is worth noting – of the last 7 goals in games between the two all were scored in the 2nd half!

That may be of no consequence but I do fancy goals and I do fancy The Robins to hit Bolton where it hurts – two selections well worth a look with the former taking a best price with Coral and the latter subscribing to my late goals theory via bet365's Betbuilder function.

Recommended Bets

  • Bristol City over 1.5 team goals (7-10, Coral) – 4pts
  • Bristol City over 1.5 second-half goals (21-10, Bet365) – 1pt

The Night Owl sees me taking on the 2nd round of games in Venezuela's top flight and again it looks a big price.

Deportivo La Guira v Monagas (11pm)

Early days and as is often the case in SA perhaps that's the rationale for the bigger than anticipated pricing for goals!

Either way I'd be surprised if we didn't see a bit of action with both sides on the scoresheet as has been the case in the last 3 H2Hs all within a six-month spell from August.

Recommended Bets

  • Over 2.5 match goals (21-20, bet365) – 2pts

Interesting to note that most of the top championship teams fell on their swords in the last round.

Totally agree @old al sir but I suspect Parky (Bury Legend by the way) will make a lot of changes for Wanderers and will certainly be prioritising their Tuesday night fixture with Reading.
