Best Tennis Tips and Predictions Today
Based on the latest tennis odds, here are the bets we're recommend you wager on this Wednesday:
Djokovic to Win and Over 18.5 Games @ 11/10
Novak Djokovic takes to the court again in pursuit of an elusive gold medal at the Olympics, two days after routing rival Rafael Nadal in a blockbusting second-round clash.
While Djokovic looked brilliant against Nadal, we think he’ll be slightly more lacklustre in this clash. Germany’s Dominik Koepfer is no mug, with the world No. 70 seeing off Milos Raonic and Matteo Arnaldi in his opening two matches in Paris.
Djokovic’s big clash against Nadal will have taken an incredible amount of emotional energy from the Serbian. It was clear he was up for it and brought a high level. Against someone like Koepfer, it will be challenging to come out of the blocks in the same way.
We still expect Djokovic to get this done in straight sets, but don’t be surprised if it’s a more sedate 7-5, 6-4 kind of scoreline.
Fritz vs Musetti to Be Three Sets @ 11/10
Also playing on Wednesday are Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti, who have an exciting head-to-head that sits at 2-2 so far. Musetti has won both of their encounters this year, recently at Wimbledon and on clay in Monte-Carlo.
We’re not prepared to back the Italian, however, just because he’ll be coming into the clash with a decent dose of fatigue after making the final in Umag over the weekend.
Expect a hearty fight – which he may well still win – but betting on this to go the distance is a safer wager. The pair are evenly matched as their head-to-head indicates, and their clash at Wimbledon earlier this month went to five sets.
