With the Premiership sides getting up to speed, the chances of shocks in the League Cup group stage get smaller with each passing game.

But plenty of big clubs know one more slip-up in the final two rounds of fixtures could end up costing them a place in the tournament's knockout stages.

Livingston look like the top-flight club at the biggest risk tonight as they visit a Cove Rangers side who have won both their games, scoring five times in the process.

The Lions only sit third in Group C after losing on penalties to leaders Hamilton following a 1-1 draw.

We’ve sent plenty of goals with both sides so far and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays evens in a McBookie bet builder.

St Johnstone and St Mirren suffered shock defeats on day one but responded well by claiming 4-0 victories at the weekend.

New Buddies signing Stav Nachmani scored a debut double off the bench on Saturday and is 5/6 at McBookie for another goal tonight.

I also like the 20/21 at Coral on St Mirren to be winning at half-time and full-time.

St Johnstone are at home to Championship side Ayr and I will bet against BTTS in this one (13/10, BetVictor).

Kelty Hearts could have unearthed a gem in Tiwi Daramola, who has started the season with three goals in two games.

The 21-year-old is 11/8 at McBookie for another goal tonight at home to Stranraer and that looks good value.

The Women’s World Cup finally sparked into life yesterday as Germany hit six and Brazil scored four to bring up one of our super singles.

The fixtures aren’t that glamorous today and I’m steering clear of the first two as they kick off at 3am and 6.30am.

That leaves us with Switzerland v Norway in Group A and the Norwegians need to go for a win after losing their opener to New Zealand.

You can back Norway at 6/5 (Bet365) and that could be decent value, given they sit eight places above the Swiss in the FIFA rankings.

I’d expect a tight game and the half-time draw could also pay off at evens with William Hill.

Super Singles

  • St Mirren HT-FT (20/21, Coral).
  • Daramola to score (11/8, McBookie).

Thought I’d share my daily double with you today this is a maximum staked bet 10 points on the nose Viking 6pm UK time and Boavista FC 8.15pm UK time. Boavista will have a decent side out tonight which I know from someone connected to the club their opposition have injuries to msin playmaker and 2 centre forwards are injured. Viking are full strength looking at their team, opposition have a few youngsters playing due to a virus this week in camp. Odds 1.06 skybet 10 point win 🏆 ✌🏿

❌❌❌ Disaster. Boavista had the chance to take top spot. Lacklustre performance unfortunately. Viking won easy in Norway.

POT -10 point ( Which equates to a £1 loss)

So each of your points = 10p

Early morning play in the women’s game, Philippines have set up as expected with Barker and Harrison playing as the marauding wing backs. Really see them opening New Zeland up they are both speedy types can see them getting a few balls into the box which could, and should , lead to corners. Skybet have 3+ for Philippines at 5-4 which , imo, looks fair and worth a point play

    Philippines 3+ corners 5/4 1 point win

    Pot -11 points

    New Zealand v Philippines

    – Over 2 corners in the first half for New Zealand
Over 5 corners for New Zealand
Over 1 goals for New Zealand
    13/8, Bet365

    – Over 10 corners
    11/8, Bet 365

    Long Shot
    – Own goal in the game
    10/1

New Zealand clocked up 8 corners against Norway and were the better side. Phillippines put up a valiant effort against Switzerland but the joint hosts know this is the game to see them through and they should dominate and get a positive result.

Zrinjski Mostar entertain Slovan Bratislava tonight in a repeat of a Conference League qualifier from last season in which there was a red card in both legs and 14 yellows over the tie. Decent ref tonight in Belgiums Bram Van Driessche who had a spell last season where he dished out 5 reds in 8 matches

For an interest this morning with a lack of games in Oz & Asia…..no had a single bet at the womens WC but gonna have a wee play on the Swiss to collect most corners. No gonna lie & say its a strong fancy but Norway lost the corner count 8-2 to New Zealand in their opener so perhaps the Norwegians like Mjjalby last night dont earn many corners with their style….

Switzerland W most match corners 7/5

    Longshot

Switzerland Women To Win, Norway Women Most Cards & Switzerland Women Most Corners 25/1

    Ante Post, English Championship.

    Middlesboro, Top 6 finish 11/10 .

Michael Carrick came into this post midway throo last season when they were 3 rd bottom and he guided them to a 3rd place at the end of the season, so he clearly has the tactical/managerial ability

On the strength he has had a full pre season to get them into shape , i think this is a cracking bet.

Will probably have a wee dabble on the outrights as well

Might be worth waiting on Chuba Akpom contract situation first mate. 28 goals last season clubs be looking at him only 12 months remaining on his contract they could sell if he doesn’t sign. Backed Boro last season they were the exact same price for top 6, only Championship bet Ive done in about 5 year. Always hard to call…

@kf, in the Scottish Championship altho the Dunfermline fans are complaining about their lack of additions to the squad , i think they are a great bet at 10/1 each way 1/5 odds 1, 2, 3

this is a club with Premier League Mindset and their current manager James McPhate kept Dundee in the Premier for a while, so he knows what it takes at a similar level…

League 1, me thinks Falkirk finally will get themselves promoted after a few near misses @ 9/4

very similar dynamics to Dunfermline a very ambitious club with a great history given their provincial status and if they do get going they will carry a big support given the level they are competing in..

    My tennis plays for today.

    L Musetti -4.5 Games v E Ymer 1.73, Pinnacle (NAP)
Musetti is the defending champion here this week in Hamburg and should be far too good for Elias Ymer. The 186 ranked player has been struggling to string any sort of consistent results together for quite some time now. Despite losing last week to Ruud in the Semi Final in Bastad, Musetti was playing some really good tennis. With points to defend this week he will be highly motivated to get off to a strong start and should win with relative ease.

    A Rus -3.5 Games v M Timofeeva 1.75, Pinnacle (NB)
Despite losing in qualifying last week Timofeeva turned it around and won Budapest. She played some great tennis but some really long matches (five 3 set matches) which could really have an impact here. It’s a very quick turnaround and she is playing against a player in Rus who has lost just once on clay since May. During that period Rus has won 3 tournaments in a row including a 15 match winning run before she lost in a tight 3 set battle to eventual runner up Paolini in Palermo. Rus will be the fresher player here and the lefty will play her usual aggressive tennis. I am expecting a post title hangover here for Timofeeva and a win for Rus. I was tempted by the 4.5 game handicap at bigger odds but have opted for the slightly lower line.

    B Nakashima to win 2-0 v M Purcell 1.83, Bet365
I sided against Purcell last week when he lost to Brouwer and I will do the same again here. He has been poor since May and was easily beaten last week on grass. There are also rumours he has been playing with a fractured foot for a while which is one of the main reasons I went against him in Newport. He now transitions to a fast hard court in very humid conditions against Nakashima who he has already lost to 6-3 6-3 last year. During that match Purcell was regularly under pressure on serve and I see the same happening here as well. I was tempted by the –3.5 games but have opted for the straight sets win just in case one of the sets, possibly the first, is a little tighter than expected. Both should hit though.

    S Wawrinka -3.5 Games v F Misolic 1.95, Pinnacle
I picked Wawrinka last week in Gstaad in his poor loss to Munar but willing to give him another chance here. On a slow clay court in Umag he should have far too much power for Misolic. As long as Wawrinka keeps the errors down this should be a comfortable win for the Swiss.

Good luck everyone today with your bets.

Probably gonna be chemo to come, but couldn’t have gone better – and no stoma either. Thanks for all the messages of support in recent weeks m, meant a lot.
