Middlesbrough secured their first win of the season thanks to captain Jonny Howson’s penalty winner against Sunderland on Saturday and Michael Carrick will be desperate that any momentum isn’t derailed at League Two Bradford City.
Relief was palpable at the full-time whistle once the three points were secure and Carrick is confident they can build on the win despite promising to make changes to the starting XI. He’s done so with good effect so far, seeing off Huddersfield and Bolton in previous rounds.
Mark Hughes’ Bantams sit mid-table in League Two, two divisions below Boro, but they’re unbeaten at home (W2 D2) and are 11/10 to avoid to defeat in the Draw No Bet market (90 mins).
It’s 20 years this season since Middlesbrough won the EFL trophy and they should be good enough to book a place in the last 16 at 7/10 tonight.
Burnley have endured a tough start to life in the Premier League but Vincent Kompany has stuck by his principles which will surely pay dividends eventually. They suffered a narrow defeat to Manchester United on Saturday night but should enjoy success against the Red Devil’s neighbours, Salford City.
Defeat to Harrogate on Saturday was Salford fifth in a row so they come in to this one a poor form. They’ve won their previous two rounds on penalties after impressive draws with Championship sides Leeds and high-flying Preston but this looks like it should be a step too far.
Double up Burnley with Boro for a 6/5 Double.
The last things any Premier League side want in the cup is to be drawn away at in-form side from the Championship but that the scenario for Wolves who travel to second-placed Ipswich Town.
The Tractor Boys only defeat this season has come in a seven-goal thriller against Leeds, but they won by the odd goal in seven at the weekend after Blackburn threatened to leave Portman Road with all three points.
They’re the joint top scorers in the second tier. Compare that to Wolves’ six in the Premier League.
It looks like the proverbial banana skin for Gary O’Neil’s side and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Ipswich nick this one at a healthy 17/10.

Unless I’m missing something…BTTS at Sevilla & Mallorca. Only 5/2 so looks like a mistake, just hope they honour it if it comes in.
WH offer 2 – 9/1
All 4 teams to score in Tuesday’s 2 La Liga matches.
Price for this has changed to 3/1 now, still 9/1 on betslip though
No joy with my pen longshots or header at Coventry LOSERS
Well done all winners
No luck in the football yesterday but 4/6 winners in the NFL overnight.
Well done all winners.
Juventus vs Lecce – BTTS & Over 2.5gls – 6/4
Think this is a massive price considering Juves peaky defence and Lecce are the surprise package of seria A so far this season, they bagged two away from home against Fiorentina so can see them contributing to the goals tonight.
Few for the weekend which stands out at a good prices is Spurs vs Liverpool
BTTS in both halves at 11/2
BTTS 2 or more at 2/1
Over 5.5 goals at 9/2
any thoughts on united to beat Palace convincingly?!? Palace have alot of players out injured and another game against united at their place to look forward to this weekend.
united to win easily for me even if they play youngsters.
Man U to win both halves @ 3/1 WH is value in my opinion
Man U – 1 handicap 8/5
Betfair also got BB offer for Man Utd Palace game
Yesterday’s bet won at 11/8
Today’s bet
Northern Ireland premiership
Cliftonville v coleraine
Both teams to score + over 2.5 goals
William hill. 11/10
NAP
No frills (hopefully) treble;
Utd to beat Palace tonight (the second string side should be good enough here with Amrabat presumably making his full debut)
Juve to beat Lecce tonight (Juve were beaten at the weekend and leapfrog Lecce and will go second if they win)
Real to beat Las Palmas tomorrow (Real lost to city rivals Atleti over the weekend and should be far too strong here)
2.18/1 (boosted) @ Ladbrokes.. BoL
Is Ten Hag putting a strong side out fitzy??? there seems to be a lot of confidence on Man Utd winning comfortable.
Think it’s more folk expect a weak Palace one…
Personally I wouldn’t back United with my worst enemy’s last tenner after they cost me at the weekend.
United must have the worst bench out of the top 6 sides, if United play a second string that’s even worse depending on Palace’s team of course. Realistically this is probably United’s best chance of silverware this season and they are the holders so maybe Ten Hag starts a strong side and get the job done early.
I don’t know for sure Macca but I’m expecting him to go strong to keep some slim momentum going and as ya say it’s out best chance of a pot with City drawing Newcastle away.. there well be changes,.hence why I mentioned a second string side, but I’d say 5/6 of the first 11 will start including Hojlund, Varane to being him back to match fitness, Eriksen as a 10, he’ll change keeper ,.we only have Dalot and Requilion as full backs, probably McTominay and Amrabat in the middle, and with Antony and Sancho excluded, it’ll probably be Garnacho and Pellestri.. and as I type that out it actually doesn’t feel like too much of a second string side!
Cheers for replying. Team news will be out soon.

Goodluck all with a bet 👍
Ipswich v Wolves
I can’t dispute the super single. Think there’s every chance they can beat us. There’s also every chance we beat them convincingly.
I’m not taking that bet myself though…. The bookies can’t separate us and that’s for a reason.
We aren’t actually playing that badly which is annoying. The weekend was controversial. Just wasn’t a penalty at all.
Our fitness is an issue still. Expect us to have a good first half and then wouldn’t be surprised to see Ipswich get right back into it second half.
For anyone who fancies Ipswich…. Some good odds in the HT/FT market
Wolves/ipswich – 25/1
Wolves/draw – 12/1
I fancy us to score first and I fancy us to lead at half time. As for what happens 2nd half. Who knows?
My bets tonight
Wolves 1st to score – evens
Wolves winning at half time – 2/1
No NAP from me and about 3/5 confidence in the above 2
Spot on about the early superiority followed by the demise, they didn’t make it to HT but great tipping
Cheers mate. Close.
I wonder now how long Gary O’Neil has left.
I took 14/1 a couple of weeks ago on him being next prem manager to leave. He’s now at 6/1.

O Neil next manager to leave 11/1 skybet surely he hasn’t got much longer.
6/1 already. Heckingbottom may save the bookies mind
I took 14/1 a few weeks ago.
Think he will go. Didn’t really have the backing of the fans when appointed and it’s now become pretty hostile.
More concerning to me is who we get next.
St. Pauls United v Village Superstars

St Kitts and Nevis premier league 🇰🇳
Both teams to score 10-11 HILLS. NAP ⚽
Prediction 1-1
WH offer 2 – 9/1 👍👍👍
All 4 teams to score in Tuesday’s 2 La Liga matches.
WH paying their mistake, wouldn’t happen at Slybet
The void hammer would be swinging away
Definitely, not til after it came in tae 🤣
Actually, Hills didn’t have much choice but TO pay out.
Reason? It was a “Daily Enhanced Special” price – meaning the price is promoted as being significantly better than “normal” rates.
Since punters have no way of knowing how generous any enhancement could be, Hills cannot get away with the “palpable error” defence.
NB This would NOT apply if the bet wasn’t marked as a “Daily Enhanced Special”.
Even though they had it boosted from 7/1 to 9/1 on the slip?? Wasn’t even 5/2 for it doing it manually. Pal fron work stuck it on this morning aswell so must’ve been changed after 10 o’clock
The NAP lands but a goal short for the NB.
