And just like that, the Olympics tennis is finished, and it’s off to the North American hard-courts to begin US Open preparations. The hard-court swing begins with a hiss and a roar, as the Canadian Open takes place this week, with both the ATP and WTA Tours fighting it out in these 1000-level events. We’ve look at today’s matches, and come up with the best bets for Tuesday.
Best Tennis Tips and Predictions Today
Based on the latest tennis odds, here are the bets we're recommend you jump on today:
Jannik Sinner to Win Montreal Outright @ 3/2
Given it’s the start of the week, now is the best time to get your outright bets in for the Canadian Open. We say it will be Italy’s Jannik Sinner who takes out the men’s event.
With all the focus on Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic in recent weeks, it’s easy to forget that Sinner is the world No 1. The Italian is 42-4 for the year, with titles in Melbourne, Rotterdam, Miami and Halle. Only three men have defeated him since November 2023. He’s been the man to beat this season, until losses in Paris and London slowed down his momentum and tonsillitis kept him out of the Olympics.
Given that Alcaraz and Djokovic are both sitting out this week’s tournament, we expect Sinner to perform well. He won this time last year, and is our bet to do so again in 2024.
Raonic +2.5 Handicap Against Rune @ 4/5
Milos Raonic takes on Holger Rune in the opening round of the Canadian Open, and we’re smelling an upset. The Canadian is playing at home, on a surface that favours his big serve and aggressive plus-one play. Rune, on the other hand, has had a patchy season, and recently split with yet another coach.
We say that Raonic has a great chance of pulling off an upset here. However, the +2.5 handicap is a slightly safer option, and is our recommendation this Tuesday.
