France have probably been the most impressive team so far at the 2026 World Cup and they get their knockout-stage campaign underway tonight with a clash against Sweden.

Les Bleus landed a tricky group as they went up against Senegal and Norway but they beat both of those sides and also eased past minnows Iraq.

Superstar forwards Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele both have four goals to their name already so Sweden's defence will need to be on top form tonight to keep them out.

France vs Sweden top betting tips

While the French breezed into the knockout stage, Sweden's group campaign was a mixed bag with one win, one defeat and a draw.

They hammered Tunisia 5-1 but then lost by the same margin to the Dutch before a 1-1 stalemate with Japan booked their place in the last 16.

Graham Potter's defence has looked vulnerable so it's easy to see why France are Bet365's 27/100 favourites tonight.

It's hard finding value but combining a French win with them scoring in each half pays 10/11 in a bet builder.

Didier Deschamps' side haven't looked that secure at the back either and they conceded against Senegal and Norway.

So Sweden's big-name strikers could get a bit of joy and Alexander Isak looks good at evens to get an effort on target. That bet landed in all three of his appearances in the group stage.

Ivory Coast vs Norway

The first last-32 clash at the World Cup today has the potential to go all the way as Ivory Coast lock horns with Norway.

Both sides finished second in their group, with the Africans edged out by Germany while Norway finished behind the French.

Norwegian boss Stale Solbakken benched all his big hitters for the group decider with Les Bleus, partly to give them a rest and also because he wanted to end up in this side of the draw.

But Ivory Coast won't be pushovers and I'm expecting this one to be tight. The draw appeals at 5/2 with Bet365 while the half-time stalemate is safer at 6/5.

The midfield battle should be tasty and Norway's Sander Berge is a tempting 11/4 to commit over 1.5 fouls, which could be worth a punt on the World Cup betting apps.

Mexico vs Ecuador

The late game sees co-hosts Mexico battle Ecuador at the Azteca for a place in the last 16 in front of a fired-up crowd.

That passionate backing on home soil inspired the Mexicans to three successive wins in the group stage against South Africa, South Korea and Czechia.

But the performances weren't particularly impressive and Ecuador will provide a sterner test in the first knockout game.

The South Americans got off to a slow start but hit form by beating Germany to book their place in the last 32.

Ecuador finished second in South American qualifying, behind just world champions Argentina, so might be worth a punt to make the last 16 at 6/4 with Bet365.

It safer backing a busy night for the ref in what should be a red-hot atmosphere and betting on both teams picking up two or more cards pays 11/8.
